Reciprocity is a fluid that keeps human interactions alive! However avoid having a price tag on voluntary things you do! As you lend a helping hand, don’t do so with a preconceived pay back you expect!! Give the recipient of your charity chance to repay at their convenience

And in terms affordable to them ! Don’t underestimate or overestimate what your goodness can reward ! Simply don’t be overly expectant 🥲

Success is defined and understood individually!! We all want to be successful but we all don’t have the same mindset about what success is! Do not be deluded by the story of another person! Endeavor to walk your own life path! Discern rightly so that you get to understand your own life purpose! Pursuit it and certainly you will be fulfilled! Your story is uniquely yours! It will never be like any other person’s , not even your role model

And when you achieve the things you dearly longed for at a certain time in life! Pause and show gratitude to the Supreme Being and the Universe! Don’t just all over a sudden develop new cravings! Show gratitude !

And when you discover that someone hates you or they never wish you well! Desist from tolerating them! Even Jesus Christ the Son of God rebuked the devil and his agents!

As you set out your life journey in goals, expectations among others! Always remember and recognize the fact that you’re fallible at all times. Also embrace the trait of distinguishing between what is within your ability to cause and what’s beyond you!

Inferiority complex and superior complex are both signs of weakness! Strive to be confident but avoid overly being confident since it can blind you of your own flaws and goodness or abilities of others Inferiority complex makes one to under look themself yet superiority complex makes one to overlook themself! Do you have the ability to tell whenever you’re tending towards any of the two?

Life is inherently good ! Don’t try to understand it! Just live it … live in the moment , enjoy it, embrace life struggles as a part of life not as though they are a whole of it! When you stop trying to figure out everything and merely live ! Good morning 🌞

In life we live to some extent to please others ie family, mentors, society etc We live most of the times as per the expectations of the outer world We also live to a given extent as per our inner desires, our purpose and goals It’s imperative that we know when to follow societal expectations and when not to.

MEDITATIONS BOOK 2 ~ MARCUS AURELIUS In book 2, Marcus reflects on the nature of good as what is right and evil as what is wrong . He further says that one should understand that he is a part of the universe and limited by time. He further reflects on the nature of the universe! He clearly understands that as an individual is a part of the whole. He cautions us to always remember that we’re a part of a whole but tasks us to know which part of the whole are we? He concludes by saying that all man must be conscious of the fact that all that happens to him is from the source to which he owes his existence! The source that’s the origin . He shouldn’t be fearful of death since it’s in accordance with his own nature of existence

MEDITATIONS ~ MARCUS AURELIUS BOOK 1 In book one we look at Marcus Aurelius recording whatever he learnt or was told to him about his grandfather, father, mother, some of his teachers , his adopted father and the gods. It’s reflective entirely and Marcus is trying to reminisce the lessons he was taught and learnt from all these. Everything is directed to mastery of self and not forgetting the ultimate role of the help of the gods and the favor of fortune!

MEDITATIONS ~ MARCUS AURELIUS PREFACE/INTRODUCTION ✍️ The Meditations is among the eminent Stoic classics that emphasizes the pursuit of virtue and Marcus looks at virtues like courage, justice, prudent self control, practical intelligence and an unusual kind of piety. Meditations was a personal reflection writtten by Marcus to himself! And this explains it’s initial title “To Himself “ The Meditations were admonitions neant to direct Marcus the Emperor inwards. It was a chance for him to always withdraw from the external pressures and burdens of rule and warfare into himself in order to reassert his rule over himself! He called this “ the inner retreat in his fortress “. He wrote the Meditations as a way of addressing himself seeking to review his thoughts and beliefs on providence, virtue and duty and in having these inner dialogues with himself his goal wasn’t victory in debate with himself but rather a reformed and confirmed attitude directing action. Through his Meditations , Marcus indicates that attainment of virtues is a contest between reason and appetites, passions, impluses and ambitions A Roman Emperor yet wrote in Greek! NB: Marcus was never born a royal he was among those who ascended the Roman Empire Throne by adoption! Generally, in the introduction we in general terms interface with what the Meditations by Marcus Aurelius is all about! It’s a classical stoic manual meant to aid us in our stuggles of life ! It reminds us not to get consumed while chasing earthly vanities! Marcus implores us to withdraw at certain moments from all the burdens of the world and do a self inner reflection, do a self mastery and embrace a virtuous life!
