The scale of the danger North Korea poses to crypto has become impossible to ignore.
This is the story of the investigators exposing North Korean operatives working inside the industry.
You think you know who your developer is.
But do you?

cannot wait to watch this documentary
only in the last several months (since coldcard) have i gotten deeper into rapid response onchain forensics and worked with several of these people
but it is a dark forest and these are the good people holding a lantern (cc @_SEAL_Org)

Really excited to watch this one. Covers the never ending and underappreciated work of so many good people fighting the good fight.
We're crowdfunding to help bring THE DEVELOPER to a global audience.

This is a great idea for a documentary, I was targetted by one of their campaigns in August -nitter.cf/myhackerhouse/status/2…
If you attended #defcon34 and posted online about the cryptocurrency village, web3 or defi - you maybe being targeted by a sophisticated social media phishing operation by a DPRK-nexus linked adversary using nation state tradecraft. @hackerfantastic breaks it down here👇

We're making THE DEVELOPER independently because we believe the time to expose North Korea's crypto operations is NOW.

Possibly the first crypto-related piece of content I'm actually interested in watching
You cannot fathom the amount of stories told and developers interviewed for this fucking masterpiece.
Incredible effort, insane lineup of investigators, beautifully shot.
Fuck Kim Jong Un. 😘

Finally allowed to say it and there couldn't be much better timing: I’m in a film.
Can’t show you my face. Can show you theirs 🇰🇵.

I've lost so much weight as to be unrecognisable in a sequel, so I'm not in this one.
@tayvano_, on the other hand, is both much better at this and more charismatic than me, so it's her turn - alongside others! - to appear onscreen and remind you all:
Fuck. Kim. Jong. Un.
Proud to have been allowed to help bringing this to life.
I hope you enjoy it.

Insane timing 🍿
Over 4 years ago I stumbled upon North Korean IT workers who had infiltrated the cryptocurrency industry.
My weird friends and I became obsessed. Very excited that we finally get to share that story.
The DAO hack on June 17, 2016 drained ~$150 million from the project's smart contracts. 🕵️♀️
Its recovery led to Ethereum's contentious hard fork into Ethereum (ETH) and Ethereum Classic (ETC).🍴
As a result, all ETH holders received ETC, @The_DAO_Project hack victims recovered their ETH, and the hacker walked away with a bag of ETC.
Ten years later, @thedaofund activated over 75,000 ETH in residual funds, nearly matching the $150m raised in 2016 (at current prices), to fund Ethereum security. 🛡️
It's an intriguing story. 🤯
I recommend checking out @CodeIsLawFilm to watch a glimpse of that journey with @griffgreen, @LefterisJP, and @ChrJentzsch.
