new version that fixes what i had in mind and a couple other things that people pointed out to me while making some other refinements
There's actually a MAJOR anatomical error I spotted here. If you can find it, or perhaps even some other mistake(s) that I haven't seen, you're probably high level.

I've been thinking about making educational art videos since 2023, but I still haven't done it. I *NEED* to start now.

If you think your art isn't good enough to post and that people will trash it, start anyway. If they're purely hating, they don't matter. You can never impress everyone. And when you finally become a good artist, you'll have the history to back up your hard work.

Don't post your art if you don't want to. But if the sole reason is "I'm not good enough," post anyway. It's harder if you're a teen or an adult because of ego, but you must set it aside to grow as a person and an artist.

When I was 17, I had so much ego in my art class, especially as I was improving a lot in 2023. I almost thought I knew everything, but I actually had so much more to learn (and still have). It definitely hurt others and myself more than it helped. So, be open to learning.

Balancing value, saturation, and hue to make the art not look overblown, monotonous, or just unreadable is so fucking hard...

Math and science play a p𝒂𝒓𝒕.
Art is basically just ideas conveyed with visual math and science.

For a long time, I thought my style wasn't special, but I also haven't created in quite the same way as a preceding artist. This might be because I grew numb to my style while envying others' I find interesting, and new and refreshing, however it's still unique.

Drawing anatomy by referencing your own reflection is awesome. I keep recognizing new forms and patterns that gradually help me figure out the "story" of anatomy. You can also observe bodily functionality and deformation in real time. It's even helped me curb body dysmorphia.

I think my technical abilities have been improving a lot im the past couple of years, but I really need and want to work on my artistry, too. Great drawing, coloring, rendering, etc. is great, but it's meaningless without the proper substance.

Recently, I've been enjoying integrating shading into my linework. However, I think this might actually function more as a description of local plane changes rather than lighting (still plays a part). I believe this creates a somewhat surreal look. I'll explain more later.

Recently, I've been a bit upset with spending so many hours going in circles with my art and music production. But, I realized that it's at least better than just mindlessly consuming.
