Since the Campaign was hosted by @sheffhallamuni & @lonelinesscentr we have been working hard to ensure we bring together the diverse voices & #livedexperience of #loneliness across multiple communities. We’re proud to announce our CtEL Roadshow for later in 2025, visiting multiple venues nationally, delivering our holistic & collaborative approach to old friends & new. Yesterday, something very special happened at the British Embassy in #Berlin. Co-hosted by Kieran Drake, the Deputy Head of Mission, and the External Relations Office of the Baháʼí community in Germany, 'Alone Together – An Interfaith Discussion' brought community & faith leaders together around the issue of #loneliness & how we can collaborate with shared #livedexperience, mutual respect & empathy at the heart of the dialogue. We are honoured to be part of this inspiring journey.

This new website, launched in #Sheffield yesterday by Rotherham MCVC, has true potential to support veterans & their families in #SouthYorkshire and to combat #loneliness by signposting to organisations, events & services. We were honoured being part of this week's APPG on #Loneliness & #ConnectedCommunities at Parliament, chaired by Paul Davies & @ShaunBaileyUK. This initiative has real momentum to raise awareness & drive necessary change centred upon lived experience across all communities intergenerationally. Thanks to @IntergenEngland for organising this powerful event & to all our strategic partners who attended, looking forward to working with you all as this inspiring APPG develops!

We celebrated an inspirational #SilverSunday event last weekend, with partners @ageuksheffield, @u3a_UK & @omas_soep at Hillsborough Park, #Sheffield. The attendance & support of @RockChoir gave us all a chance to dance & clap also! This is a first step in tackling #loneliness across communities intergenerationally! Starting at 11am & running until 3pm, an opportunity to target #loneliness across all ages and communities, around having fun cooking, meeting old friends & new. #PowerOfFriendship #lonelinesssupport

We are excited to announce the @ageuk #SilverSunday event taking place on Sunday 12th October#, 11am-3pm, at Hillsborough Park bowling pavilion. In collaboration with @ageuksheffield, @u3a_UK, Grandmas Soup,& @sheffhallamuni, this will provide a fantastic opportunity for young & old to come together, renew old friendships & make new ones, centred around having fun cooking! Join us, volunteer to support us & target #loneliness in a fun way with us!

This #WW2 #AtlanticConvoys stage play, Mettle, at @RothTheatres details the service of a man from #Sheffield aboard HMS Vanessa. #trauma & #loneliness are interesting elements of this extremely entertaining production. If you're in #SouthYorkshire next Thursday, 4/9, please come along.

This recent @APA research highlights some very interesting & significant elements of #loneliness, whereby those living this journey can potentially misperceive the values & beliefs of those close to them. This can create a tangible barrier of communication between someone and their support networks & aggravate any existing #trauma.

The vital importance of raising awareness of #loneliness, across all communities and age groups, is laid out here. We must all work together to mitigate the toxic effects of loneliness & to showcase the holistic & collaborative approaches that support those on this journey. Our work continues to do just that.

This 80th anniversary of #VJDay, the day that marked the end of World War 2, we all come together to remember those who sacrificed so much to ensure our freedom & democracy. We remember them, we commemorate them, we thank them. #VJDay80
