What's in the new Aztec Tierra network? - 6s blocks. - Loads of optimisations to the proving system. - ~2x faster client-side proving. - Security fixes from round-the-clock ai audits and ongoing formal verification efforts. Aztec Tierra is much safer. - Faster L1->L2 messaging (every 6 seconds, <30s latency). - More efficient aztec storage proofs. - Glamsterdam readiness. - Adjustments to Prover/Validator incentives. - Better staking ux. - Gas optimisations. - Smart contract framework improvements. - js and cli improvements for app devs and wallet devs - Lots of new apps and wallets (look for announcements). Go and build yourself a private app with smart contracts that keep things private. - Private smart contract bytecode ("private rules"). - Private state - Private functions - Private exection - Private actions - Private composability of function calls between contracts - Private interaction with public state - Private interaction with Ethereum smart contracts Private.
Introducing Aztec Tierra (Alpha V6). The platform for unstoppable private apps is here. Ethereum's only decentralized L2, with fully programmable privacy: permissionless, private smart contracts. No backdoors. No gatekeepers. aztec.network/blog/introduciโ€ฆ

Pay for AI. Stay unseen. ๐Ÿ•ถ Private Inference is one of the first apps on @aztecnetwork v6. From today at 9am ET, pay for GPT, Claude and open models from a private balance: what you spend, and from which wallet, stays off the public record. What v6 brings: โšก๏ธ 1-second client-side proofs on native ๐ŸŒ‰ Ethereum to Aztec deposits in as little as 12 seconds ๐Ÿ›ก 3,000+ validators, no central operator to trust Privacy shouldn't need permission. privateinference.gg Private is better.

NEW EPISODE - The Race to Build the Private Ethereum Can Ethereum have truly private smart contracts without backdoors? Aztec co-founder @Zac_Aztec joins @TrustlessState to make the case for privacy without privileged access, and why he believes @aztecnetwork stands apart from competing networks. They break down why Wall Street needs privacy to move onchain, how ZK Passport enables identity verification without exposing personal data, and why AI-powered cyberattacks could make decentralized infrastructure more important than ever. Just funded my ETH wallet privately through @aztecnetworkโ€™s @zk_money โ€” whole flow was surprisingly clean and straightforward. Only real friction was the ~40 min end-to-end time. Which I'm expecting that to tighten up meaningfully once V6 lands fully goes live... Complete end to end Privacy that actually feels usable is closer than ever ๐Ÿ›ก ๐Ÿค– ๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ”ฅ

the way we interact with the internet will have to change as ai continues to change the security game. the less sensitive info we hand over to third parties, the fewer opportunities attackers have to exploit. i believe the future needs a different approach. apps where users can interact, make payments and verify info without exposing everything about themselves. this is why what @aztecnetwork is building matters. giving devs the ability to retain smart contract programmability while introducing confidentiality into the apps they build. think about what that could unlock for defi, payments and onchain businesses. programmable privacy has a lot of potential.
In WWII, air doctrine understood โ€œthe bomber will always get through.โ€ Whatever your defences, expect to get bombed. AI is bringing that reality to the internet. Adversaries can deploy armies of minions to reverse-engineer unfamiliar systems and turn vulnerabilities into profitable attacks. An obsolete PHP box in a SaaS office in Idaho with $1k of extractable value is not worth a humanโ€™s time to attack. It is worth an agentโ€™s time. The marginal cost of attacks is going to zero. This will break the internet. Blockchain was first in line as grist for the AI mill, but these economics are coming for every organization holding something somebody else wants. Getting hit first has forced blockchains to prepare for the conditions now coming for everyone else. The blockchains that survive 2027 will become safe havens for people's money to escape the AI attacks tearing through the rest of the internet. The conventional response to the Binance attack was to demand more controls and trusted operators when these are the exact literal problems. Having third parties that can hotfix and react to exploits quickly is as poor a solution as security through obscurity. AI swarms will have a latency asymmetry: by the time the defender realises something is wrong, the attacker thousands of agents crawling through their systems. Every added middleman increases the attack surface. There is no obscurity in the face of AI, and web2 is increasingly a collection of slop code thrown onto web servers without an understanding of the attack surface. Blockchains have lived in adversarial environments for years. Their protocols and code are open source, publicly scrutable and hardened through that scrutiny. They are leaders in adopting formal verification, mathematically proving that software satisfies its specified rules. The solution to the coming apocalypse is to reduce the number of third parties between your intents and your goals by moving more work into hardened infrastructure. Smart contracts let the settlement layer perform useful work. Permissionlessness lets users interact with these contracts directly and reduces custody risks. The bottleneck to moving more work on-chain is that often this work relies on sensitive data. This is why privacy-preserving smart contracts are so important. They allow for data to be encrypted on the distributed ledger, but queries and requests can act on that data as if it was not encrypted. The real data - that seductive nectar the AI swarms crave - never leaves the userโ€™s device. Private smart contracts removes data custodianship from the application. Credentials, passport details, identities: these no longer need to be stored via a service. This is going to be a big deal when trust vanishes in the face of the coming AI attack swarms. On top of this all is censorship-resistance. If there is no operator that controls access to money or data, there is no operator that can be compromised. In 2027, economic activity will flow towards hardened networks that shrink the third-party attack surface. That means full decentralisation, privacy without backdoors and smart contracts that are general purpose but still can give you privacy for identity, data and which contracts/functions are being called. All without trusted hardware or a backdoor decryption key. Not coincidentally, this is what I have been building Aztec for. Is the only network that has these properties. I am being literal here - it is the only one. Private smart contracts are hard, decentralization is hard and nobody else has been able to put them both together. The world is not ready for what's coming next year. What looks like an ideological preference for cypherpunks is going to become an economic necessity.

There were five slave trades. You were taught about only one. ๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง One. The Atlantic. Twelve million Africans shipped to the Americas. Britain banned it in 1807, then hunted it for sixty years. Two. The Barbary trade. A million Europeans taken to North Africa. Britain bombarded Algiers in 1816. Three. The Saharan trade. A thousand years of caravans north across the desert. Britain had its northern end banned. Tripoli, 1857. Four. The East African trade. Twenty thousand people a year through one customs house. Britain forced the market shut. 5 June 1873. Five. The Ottoman trade. Raiders sold Eastern Europeans south for three hundred years. Britain made the Sultan ban it in 1854. It cost sixty years and two thousand sailors. Nobody else fought all five. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง It isn't over. Mauritania only made it a crime in 2007. Fifty million people are in slavery today. Someone has to remember who started the fight. โš“๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ’ช

AI / SI vulnerabilities apocalypse is going to leave a few true crypto powerhouses that define this space
Having unstoppable, decentralized privacy is unbelievably challenging. Aztec is utterly unique in what it offers. If itโ€™s backdoored or centralised you are going to FEEL that in 2027. Hardened, open protocols are essential to survive whatโ€™s coming.

Aztec will be one of the biggest projects in this space because it has these (unique) ingredients: - decentralized - private without any backdoors - smart contracts that let you build *anything* on top of the above, with full compliance Itโ€™s that simple.
