Absolute insanity.

Rule 1: Treat every firearm as if it is loaded Rule 2: Never point the firearm at anything you are not willing to destroy. Rule 3: Keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to shoot. Rule 4: Know your target, and around it. She's breaking EVERY SINGLE rule.
“Oh f**k, finger on the trigger!” 🙄 Two can make that mistake. For those rushing to condemn @metpoliceuk and declare standards are slipping, perhaps a little context wouldn’t go amiss. When an officer who is not firearms-trained handles a firearm at an event, whether a public or internal open day, a highly visible safety inhibitor is fitted to the weapon. The same applies when members of the public are invited to handle a similar @metpoliceuk firearm. But why let a little knowledge of firearms safety get in the way of a good old social media outrage session? 🤦‍♂️ I do wonder, though, whether it’s really just the finger on the trigger that’s prompted this pile-on… or whether some people were simply looking for an excuse.

Your name is Jean-Marc, you’re 46, and you run a video game and collectibles shop in Nice, wedged between an optician and a real estate agency selling 1-bed flats for €410,000 “with sea view” if you lean far enough off the balcony. You know every GTA San Andreas cheat by heart. You tested all of them in 2005 on the PS2 in your bedroom at your mum’s place. You opened in 2011 with a state-backed loan at 4.7%, and the naive belief that passion eventually pays. It did pay, sort of. €1,900 a month in a good year, after the French tax office has eaten first, second and third. Your commercial rent is indexed on a formula nobody in the Republic actually understands. You sell Funko Pops at €17.99, sealed Pokémon cards, refurbished controllers. You let little Enzo, 12, pay in installments because he’s saving for a Switch 2. You close at 7:30pm and walk home because the harbor parking is €3.40 an hour. Saturday, there’s a protest “against the cost of living.” You also think living costs too much. You almost went. At 5:12pm, your metal shutter gets ripped open with a crowbar. Forty teenagers in tracksuits and crossbody bags walk into your shop like it’s a bonus level. They take the PS5s, the Dragon Ball figures, the till with today’s €280 and even the box of paper bags that say “thank you for your visit.” A guy in a floral shirt films it vertically for TikTok. You step outside and say “stop, this is my shop.” You get hit from behind. Then rocks. They laugh. Floral shirt guy is thrilled: good angle, good lighting. Sunday morning, the police tell you there are “1,400 arrests nationwide” and they won’t send a squad for some Funko Pops. Filing the complaint takes 2 hours 40. The officer types with two fingers on Windows 7. Monday noon, your insurer reminds you that your €1,140-a-year policy has a €3,000 deductible and a “riots and civil commotion” exclusion on page 31, font size 6. Saturday night, an MP explains on TV that “the anger is legitimate” and we “shouldn’t cry over shop windows.” He’s never owned a shop window. He has a state-funded apartment. Sunday, your limited edition Vegeta figures show up on Vinted. “Brand new, never opened, €39, pickup in North Nice.” The seller has 4.9 stars. Monday, the tax office emails you. They haven’t heard about the riots. They’ve heard about your payment deadline. You did everything right, Jean-Marc. That was never the problem. The problem is you were playing by the rules in a lobby where nobody else does. So stop believing in the State. It’s not coming to save you. It’s coming to collect. Stop voting. Every five years they hand you the controller, and it’s never plugged in. Go to the gym. Not for revenge. For you. Because when the system folds, the only asset nobody can loot is the one you built under a barbell. And make money they can’t see. Cash, side hustles, sats on a cold wallet in a sock drawer. Not your keys, not your coins. Not your shop, not your loss. Fuck the system, Jean-Marc. It already did it to you first.
A French video game and cartoon store owner has his store looted in Nice. He gets attacked from behind and then has rocks thrown at him while young rioters laugh

Go fuck yourself, you feckless cunt. I hope the spirits of every single one of the Ukrainian men who died comes and spits on you in your sleep for ensuring the war continued, and the endless death toll that you made happen. MURDERER.
It is sickening that the USA is now lifting sanctions on Russian fuel, and transparently ridiculous to blame Ukraine for the spike in prices that obviously began with the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. Putin is murdering innocent Ukrainian civilians every day. The Ukrainians are fighting for their lives. And yet the White House is apparently determined to force American drivers to bankroll Putin’s slaughter. It won’t work and I doubt it will make much difference to the price of fuel. If we want Russian oil and gas back on the world market then let’s end this war - with a free, sovereign and independent Ukraine.

So you're saying 6.7% of the people are responsible for 12% of the sex crimes? This isnt the gotcha you think it is, asshat.
Replying to @Neccccy
88% of all sex crimes are committed by non Muslims. This is according to the figures shared by the ministry of justice

If "English" means born in England, "French" means born in France etc, who are the Kurds? And if Palestine is the area between the river and the sea, are they suggesting we should try and free Palestine from the Palestinians? Explain to me why this argument isnt incoherent?

This isnt justice, this is a submission hold.
Two years in prison for throwing a plastic bottle and swearing at police. Unacceptable behaviour, sure. But when far more violent criminals routinely receive much less punitive sentences - and sometimes avoid jail completely - how can this be justified?

His own father, or a child trafficker? Hmmm
A child left behind, injured in the water, while his father gets onto the boat and leaves French lifeguards to save him. What kind of father does that? Crashing waves. Chaos. A child struggling in the water, while his own father boards the boat rather than staying to protect him. I believe scenes like this expose the failures surrounding these crossings, from the charities involved, to the actions of the French authorities, to the decisions being made by the British Government. People are becoming increasingly angry about what they are seeing. I genuinely fear that if confidence in the authorities continues to collapse, some people will eventually try to take matters into their own hands. To be absolutely clear, I am not condoning, encouraging or supporting violence in any way, shape or form. Adrian

Something BIG is brewing in Europe, the UK and the Middle East…. In the last couple of weeks the corrupt UK government has advised people to stockpile food, water etc….to prepare for national emergencies. In the last couple of days it’s been reported that Germany is preparing civilian hospitals for mass casualties in a NATO conflict. France is running out of oil!!!! Macron is calling the G7 back to the table to discuss another release of emergency oil stocks as Europe loses Saudi crude deliveries and diesel prices push deeper into record territory. Russia's Kirill Dmitriev says Europe is facing the "worst energy crisis in history." He has also said in the last 24hrs that energy lockdowns are coming. Late last night 19th September….Oil refinery in south of Moscow gets attacked after Ukranian strikes. MIDDLE EAST In the last 24-48hrs…. Iran has issued "Code 100," its highest alert level, for all armed forces, covering the IRGC, the Army and security forces, per initial reports. US Embassies across the entire Middle East, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Lebanon, Jordan, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Oman have just issued new STEP security alerts, warning Americans of flight cancellations, airspace closures and travel disruptions amid a risk of sudden escalation. Late last night 19th September, a United States Air Force B-1B Lancer long-range strategic bomber took off from RAF Fairford, United Kingdom for an unknown direction. Also the US issues a security alert for the Middle East. Netanyahu has cut short his trip to the US and cancelled the planned Texas stop, flying to New York and returning to Israel the same day, shortly after Trump cut short his own weekend short. Trump abruptly cut short his Camp David weekend and returned to the White House Saturday night 19th September with no explanation. F-16 intercepts aircraft that violated Camp David airspace with Trump on site. Saudi Arabia confirms Yemen's Houthi rebels tried to attack its capital with ballistic missile. Today on the 20th September….North Korea has launched a suspected ballistic missile. In the last 48hrs…..Cuba and Argentina suffer HUGE Nationwide blackouts as their power grids have collapsed. My take on happenings as things escalate on the world stage…..The EU and NATO are preparing for war and are planning a major False Flag/attack somewhere in Europe, then blame Russia to bait them into war. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is also to stop the US midterm elections from happening in November, and to stop of the ‘Far Right’ parties from rising up across Europe. There is no doubt that there is mass PANIC happening all over the world as the takedown accelerates. It’s not going to slow down. We are about to arrive at the precipice. Buckle up.

Not the super-duper-mega-ultra-far right? Oh noes.
Be clear. Reform now has the resource to buy every billboard in the UK, blanket wall to wall advertising across written and broadcast media and saturation leafleting. The British will be blitzed into voting for the ultra right - against every best instinct. It is a dark moment.

Dude here. This is what I imagine the interview of the lone hero on that jury said to those harpy bitches: “You know what I keep hearing? That she was overwhelmed. Overwhelmed. Three children are dead, and somehow that word is supposed to make the room softer. She was overwhelmed. She was depressed. She was exhausted. Her hormones were wrong. Motherhood was difficult. Her drugs were wrong. Nobody understood what she was going through. Fine. Then stop telling me she was my equal. No—don't look away now. That's the bargain you've been demanding from us for fifty years. Women can do anything men can do. Women can command armies. Women can run corporations. Women can govern nations. Women can control nuclear arsenals. Women belong everywhere decisions are made because sex has nothing whatsoever to do with judgment, temperament, resilience, or responsibility. Remember? You don't get to abandon that argument the instant responsibility becomes unpleasant. This woman didn't forget her children in a hot car. She didn't make one catastrophic mistake in ten seconds of panic. She created time. She got her husband out of the way. She killed one child and still had time in which the universe could have screamed at her to stop. Then another. Then another. And afterward we're supposed to look at the bodies and discover that adulthood has a fucking asterisk next to it. Because she was overwhelmed. Do you understand what you're saying? If a woman can be entrusted with a nation when she's thriving but cannot be held responsible for her actions when she's collapsing, then you haven't described equality. You've described privilege. Authority without equivalent accountability. Power without equivalent consequences. Adulthood with an escape hatch. And America built an entire culture around that escape hatch. For decades we were told that holding women to different standards was sexism. Then whenever a woman failed spectacularly, suddenly treating her differently became compassion. Her emotions mattered. Her hormones mattered. Her childhood mattered. Her relationships mattered. The pressure mattered. The expectations mattered. Every conceivable circumstance marched into the courtroom ahead of responsibility and begged us to understand. But understanding isn't acquittal. Explanation isn't innocence. And compassion isn't the abolition of consequence. If a man deliberately sent his wife away, murdered their three children one by one, and afterward told us fatherhood had simply become too overwhelming, would eleven people in this room be searching for a vocabulary sophisticated enough to make him the fourth victim? Of course not. We'd call him a monster. Maybe that's exactly what equality looks like. Maybe equality means a woman gets to be a monster, too. And that's the thing this country became terrified to say. We spent half a century insisting women were strong while constructing an entire moral architecture around their fragility. We called them independent and rushed forward to explain their failures. We called them powerful and treated consequences as cruelty. We handed them authority while increasingly regarding judgment itself as some barbaric relic invented by men. Then we congratulated ourselves for achieving equality. Bullshit. Equality isn't believing women can succeed. Any coward can applaud success. Equality is believing women can fail. Equality is believing women can be selfish, calculating, cruel, incompetent, corrupt, cowardly and evil—and that when they are, they don't become helpless children merely because acknowledging what they did makes us uncomfortable. And before somebody gives me the inevitable speech: no, this woman does not prove that every woman is unstable. One murderous father wouldn't prove every man is unstable either. That's not my argument. My argument is that your defense of her proves something about you. Because you've spent decades telling me sex is irrelevant to whether somebody can shoulder the greatest responsibilities imaginable. President. General. Judge. Surgeon. Commander. Fine. Then sex is irrelevant here, too. You cannot tell me a woman is psychologically robust enough to have her finger on a nuclear arsenal on Monday and tell me on Tuesday that murdering her own children must be excused because the pressures of ordinary life shattered her. Pick one. If women are adults, treat them like adults. If women possess the resilience necessary to wield power, then demand the resilience necessary to bear responsibility. And if your answer is that we cannot demand that—if somewhere underneath all the slogans you really believe women are uniquely vulnerable to emotion, hormones, stress, motherhood, relationships, or whatever explanation we're using this week—then have the courage to follow your own argument to its conclusion. Because you don't get both. You don't get equality when power is being distributed and fragility when consequences arrive. That's not liberation. That's aristocracy. And maybe that was America's great mistake. Not giving women equality. Equality would have been easy. Equality has rules. We gave certain people something much more poisonous: the expectation that somebody else would always be responsible for what happened to them—and eventually, even for what they did to somebody else. Three innocent, loving children had to die before anybody in this room was forced to confront where that road ends. Eleven of you looked at those bodies and still found reasons she shouldn't pay for them. So call me cruel. Call me backward. Call me a misogynist. Christ, you've been waiting all afternoon to use the word. But I'm voting guilty. Because those children don't get another trial. They don't get a newspaper profile explaining their trauma. They don't get professors discussing the social forces acting upon them. They don't get another morning. She made sure of that. And if equality means anything at all, it has to mean that the person who took those mornings away from them doesn't escape responsibility because she's a woman. Otherwise stop calling women equal. Call them what you've actually made them: untouchable.”

🚨I've received some abuse for this post, so here's why I think it's not an offensive weapon. A baseball bat is not an "offensive weapon" just because police say so. R v Simpson (Calvin) (1983) established three clear categories: 1. Items made for causing injury (offensive per se) 2. Items adapted for causing injury 3. Everyday items neither made nor adapted — but carried with the specific intent to cause injury A baseball bat sits firmly in category 3. The prosecution must prove that intent. The object alone is not enough. In this video a man walks down a busy UK street carrying a metal baseball bat complete with packing. Officers go straight to physical restraint and PAVA spray. No calm "got a receipt?" or "what are you doing with that?" — just force. I appreciate we only have a 30-second video. If the bat wasn’t adapted and no intent was established on the spot, the legal threshold for treating it as an offensive weapon simply wasn’t met. Intent on the spot meaning he was about to use it immediately doesn’t hold up, as members of the public are just carrying on with no signs of distress. Possession of an ordinary sports item does not magically become a crime because an officer decides it looks threatening. The law requires more than that. Watch the full clip and decide for yourself whether the response matched the law.
No need to watch this in slow motion. 🤷‍♂️ Why didn’t the officer ask if he’s got a receipt? 😂 Instead he goes way over the top. Christ, he even sprays the lad. So unless there’s further information, I’d say this is completely wrong. 😑 nitter.cf/BritLadx/status/208620…
