SpaceMed Class of 2026: Celebrating the First SpaceMed Graduation 🎓
Today, we celebrated the graduation of the first cohort of the Erasmus Mundus SpaceMed Master’s Programme (2024–2026).
Our laboratory has been proud to contribute to the third semester of the programme, supporting the students through their education, research, and field experiences.
Congratulations to the SpaceMed Class of 2026!
We wish all graduates every success as they take their next steps in research and beyond — wherever their journey takes them.

From Earth to Space: Our Laboratory at ICEE 2026 🇲🇾
Our laboratory was proud to be represented at the International Conference on Environmental Ergonomics (ICEE 2026) in Kuching, Malaysia, with an impressive contribution from our researchers and MSc SpaceMed students.
Beyond the scientific presentations, ICEE was also an excellent opportunity to connect with colleagues from around the world, exchange ideas, and strengthen international collaborations in environmental, exercise, and space physiology.
And finally, a special moment for the ICEE community: our colleague Dr. Leonidas G. Ioannou, dual PhD invited us to Cyprus for ICEE 2028 🇨🇾

UltraSense A New Era of Wearable Health Monitoring
We’re proud to be part of @UltraSense_EU, a Horizon Europe
project building a stretchable wearable technology combining ultrasound, bioimpedance & graphene biosensors for decentralised health monitoring.🧵1/3
The technology will be validated in two use cases:
1️⃣ Lifestyle management — how physiological feedback shapes exercise behaviour
2️⃣ Early detection & continuous monitoring of metabolic syndrome — using body composition + sweat biomarkers for early risk detection
Our laboratory leads the lifestyle management validation study —investigating how physiological feedback can influence exercise behaviour and lifestyle.
