JUST IN: RFK Jr. just opened the door for pharmacies to sell unapproved peptides. The HHS announced an interim policy allowing compounding pharmacies to produce and use six peptides, including BPC-157 and Epitalon, without FDA approval. No enforcement actions will be taken while the agency considers permanent rules. Kennedy said the move will discourage the use of risky foreign research-only peptides and advance patient choice. The FDA previously listed five of the six peptides as substances with significant safety risks; Kennedy had that designation removed in the spring.

BREAKING / EXCLUSIVE Chinese national Wenshen Xu was sentenced today to 12 years in prison for transporting cocaine for the terrorist-listed CJNG cartel. The Honduras-based smuggler, extradited from Guatemala, also faces a $22 million money judgment after he and his co-conspirators moved more than 450 kilograms of cocaine into the United States and laundered over $22 million in drug proceeds. Xu’s network agreed to move a multi-kilo load out of Cali, Colombia, for a man claiming to represent the Cartel de Jalisco Nueva Generación—triggering the material-support for terrorism charge. The case is part of the Homeland Security Task Force initiative. @EpochTimes

On the ground in Georgia, where former President Obama headlined a rally to boost the state’s Democratic candidates as Georgians have flocked to the polls in record numbers. He appeared alongside Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff and former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Bottoms, candidates for the U.S. Senate and governor, respectively, who received Obama’s resounding endorsement. “When you campaign in as many elections as I have, you can tell when an election comes along, it just feels a little different,” Obama said. “An election where people are so ready for something new, so hungry for something better, so sick and tired of being sick and tired that everywhere we go, it feels like change is in the air.” Obama’s visit to the Peach State comes on the heels of President Trump’s appearance at two rallies to boost the Republican contenders: Rep. Mike Collins, who is running for the Senate, and billionaire Rick Jackson, who is vying for the gubernatorial seat. Georgia has had two Democratic senators since 2021, and the state has been under Republican governorship for 23 years. More of my reporting from Obama's rally linked below⬇️

JUST IN: Haifa Smoked Fish Inc. is recalling about 560 pounds of smoked fish from three states because it may be contaminated with a bacterium that can cause fatal illness. The recall applies to cold-smoked sprats distributed through retail outlets in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania, the New York-based company said in an Oct. 27 announcement released by the FDA. The company urged people who have bought the recalled items to return them to the place of purchase for a refund. It warned buyers not to eat the products, even if they do not look or smell spoiled. Customers with questions can contact Haifa at 718-523-8899.

Trump Accounts for Children "All Americans with children should activate their 'Trump accounts' for their kids." "More than 60 million American children under 18 have been enrolled in the program as of Oct. 1, 2026. The children were enrolled using their Social Security numbers. Accounts come with an initial donation of up to $1,250 from the federal government ($1,000) and the Michael Dell family ($250)." "The amount depends on the child’s age and is explained below. These accounts are a great way to invest in your children’s long-term financial future and teach the whole family about investing," writes John Paul Micha. theepochtim.es/m8iuuw

JUST IN: The nation’s first detransition clinic has opened. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced on Tuesday that Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston opened the clinic for people who have undergone transgender procedures and want to reverse them. For patients through age 21, the hospital will provide detransition-related medical care; for those over 21, it will offer related obstetric and gynecologic care. Services include surgery, psychiatry, endocrinology, primary care, fertility counseling, speech pathology, and psychology, with care plans individualized to each patient. The opening of the clinic is part of a settlement between the hospital, Paxton’s office, and the DOJ. As part of the settlement, the hospital is required to pay $10 million and fund the clinic at no cost to patients for five years. The settlement resolved a federal investigation into allegations the hospital submitted false billings to obtain Medicaid coverage for pediatric “sex-rejecting” procedures, the Department of Justice said. Background Texas banned transgender surgeries, puberty blockers, and hormone therapy for minors with gender dysphoria in 2023. The clinic opening comes amid a broader federal crackdown on transgender procedures for minors: CMS has ended federal Medicaid and CHIP funding for these procedures on children, and other hospitals have agreed with the DOJ to stop providing them to minors.

JUST IN: The CDC is warning about drug-resistant bacterial and fungal pathogens, saying there has been a rise in infections and deaths from more than a dozen different germs. The CDC listed 19 bacterial and fungal pathogens categorized by their “level of threat to human health—urgent, serious, and concerning.” The CDC said an average of 9.7 million infections and 50,800 deaths from drug-resistant microbes occur in the U.S. “each year.” The figure represents a sharp increase in the number of infections that were reported by the CDC in 2019. An archived CDC page said that drug-resistant bacteria and fungi were responsible for around 2.8 million cases as well as 35,000 deaths each year, on average. “These numbers are alarming by any measure but are particularly sobering when infectious diseases physicians connect real patients with these statistics in their everyday experience,” said Infectious Diseases Society of America President Wendy Armstrong in a statement, responding to the new CDC reporting. Those infections, she warned, can “prolong hospital stays, drive up health care costs and make it increasingly difficult—and sometimes impossible—for doctors to safely provide care like cancer chemotherapy, organ transplants, hip and knee replacements, and other medical care and surgeries.”

Howard Lutnick lost his brother and hundreds of his employees on 9/11. Twenty-five years later, he shared what he learned with families of Oct. 7 hostages. Sebastian Gorka, Deputy Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Counterterrorism, was in the room. “He lost more than 600 of his employees.” “Including his 36-year-old brother, died that day.” “He had this incredibly trenchant, soulful message to everyone in the room.” “Our job is to live.” “He could have crumbled.” “He could have hidden for the rest of his life.” “You never get over it.” “That message for the Gazan hostage families, I think, is as powerful as it is for anyone who lost someone on September 11th.” @SebGorka

A federal judge has blocked the Justice Department’s last-minute push to set aside roughly 20,000 California mail ballots linked to voters the DOJ flagged as likely noncitizens. U.S. District Judge David O. Carter ruled late on Oct. 28 that the ballots may be counted in the Nov. 3 midterm congressional elections. He called the DOJ’s emergency request an unprecedented federal overreach on the eve of an election that could disenfranchise more than 20,000 registered Californians. @EpochTimes

Julia James Davis believes modern life has lost much of its beauty—from architecture and art to clothes, music, and everyday manners. Her love of art began in childhood, when her mother took her to museums every weekend. She later studied art history at USC and art business through Sotheby’s in London. Until 2020, she favored post-World War II contemporary art. Then COVID-19 changed her direction. While back home preparing for graduation, Davis began questioning the path she had planned and revived Jay Day Dress Co., the company founded by her great-grandfather in 1932. Around the same time, her mother took her to a Bible study, beginning a new interest in faith. In 2023, that journey led her into the Catholic Church. Davis says faith changed the way she saw beauty. She returned to older forms of art, fashion, and architecture and created her video series “The War on Beauty.” There, she argues that beauty shapes people for better or worse and that its loss can affect both the mind and spirit. Her message is not only about what has been lost. Davis encourages people to bring beauty back into daily life through prayer, nature, books, and classical music. She also puts that idea into practice through Jay Day Dress Co., including a modular “promise dress” that can be worn in more than 20 ways. For Davis, beauty is more than decoration—it can morally and spiritually uplift people and, in her view, point them toward God. Her larger message is simple: restoring beauty does not begin only with artists or architects; everyone can take part in bringing it back.

Mammograms Find Cancer Early—but How Many Lives Are Saved? “We caught it early.” For a woman just diagnosed with breast cancer, those are words she hopes to hear. Cancer screening is built on a simple premise: Find cancer early, treat it early. Save a life. Sometimes that’s exactly what happens. A mammogram finds a tumor before a woman can feel a lump, before the cancer spreads. Finding it may save her life. However, that’s not always the case. Read the article for free ⤵️

JUST IN: The CDC has activated a Level 3 emergency response to the surge of dengue cases in Florida. The Florida Department of Health said 425 cases have been locally acquired, primarily in Tampa and the remainder of Hillsborough County. One person, an 80-year-old woman, has died of the disease, officials told local outlets. The agency is deploying its own staff—including entomologists, epidemiologists, and laboratory experts—to help with mosquito trapping, case investigations, and lab support, while also assisting the Republic of the Marshall Islands. -Most cases are dengue virus type 2, and roughly half of patients have required hospitalization. -Hillsborough, Pinellas, and Pasco counties have declared emergencies and are urging residents to eliminate standing water, wear long clothing, and use repellent. -CDC teams are already on the ground in Florida, and personnel have also been sent to the Marshall Islands to train local workers and supply rapid tests. -Overall, four U.S. jurisdictions (including Puerto Rico) have reported 1,819 locally acquired dengue cases in 2026. Dengue is spread through mosquito bites and can cause fever, aches, nausea, and rash; it is fatal in a small percentage of cases. The CDC says the best prevention remains avoiding bites, with treatment focused on rest, hydration, and acetaminophen (Tylenol).
