At 17, Ruby Sales, a lifelong civil rights activist, marched across the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma in 1965.
She was a Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee member and registered Black voters in Lowndes County, #Alabama.
She was born #OTD in 1948.
