The real double standards of our time are here. I spent months with the #Kurds. I filmed their bravery (Peshmerga). Their loyalty (The Battle for Mosul). The savagery of Erdogan against them (The Will to See). Yet, I never received an answer to my question: why don’t they get even a fraction of the attention #Palestine receives?
Meantime, #Turkey, a NATO country by the way, is relentlessly bombing and massacring Kurds in northern Syria.
No protests, no encampments, no marches, no media coverage, no condemnations from UN, no lectures by EU, no demand for ‘calm’ and ‘restraint’, no calls for ‘Ceasefire Now’, no demands for ‘2 State Solution’, no ICC arrest warrants for Erdogan, and no ICJ proceedings in The Hague.
Nothing. Just deafening silence and hypocrisy.

I acknowledge a mother's pain at losing her son. But to say that the unit's Command Sergeant Major retiring 10 months before they even deployed for training is why her son got killed is a disgusting lie. Her E4 son getting blown up is because George Bush sent us into Iraq thinking it would be easy. It's because Rumsfeld and CENTCOM had no Phase IV plan on how to occupy this country we were suddenly in charge of. It's because DOD refused to start buying equipment to protect us until it was forced on them. It's because even after we started dying from bombs and ambushes they dismissed it as "dead enders" and a massive, well funded insurgency blossomed out of it. But it sure as fuck wasn't Tim Walz retiring and then going on to be one of the fiercest advocates in Congress for those same service members and their families to get the care they deserve after coming home. This is pure right wing hate because he ran as a Democrat and opposed that stupid war. I did three tours there. I went in driving soft skin, unarmored vehicles and aircraft. The list of Iraqis I worked with who have been slaughtered since is now over a dozen. The number of service members I know that have taken their own lives from their experiences is too long to think about. Enough of this bullshit. Trump is a criminal. He has no plan for this country. We will defeat him and his hate.

The last footage captured by two of aid workers affiliated with The World Central Kitchen, diligently preparing meals for displaced Palestinians in Gaza.
Tragically, these two volunteers were among those killed in an Israeli airstrike that targeted their convoy in Deir al-Balah just hours ago. The airstrike also claimed the lives of two more foreign aid workers and their Palestinian personal driver.

We are aware of reports that members of the World Central Kitchen team have been killed in an IDF attack while working to support our humanitarian food delivery efforts in Gaza. This is a tragedy. Humanitarian aid workers and civilians should NEVER be a target. EVER.
