Earth Day.
24 hrs for our planet.
What a joke.
Meanwhile, the average person spends ONE-THIRD of their life working a job they don't care about.
That's 90,000 hours that you could get PAID to work on climate solutions.
Quit your job.
Work on climate.
Earlier today, CNN reported that an earthquake caused the flood in Nepal — but CNN got it wrong.
The "earthquake" was caused by a glacier collapsing so violently that it registered as one.
Nearly 30% of Nepal's glaciers have melted in the past 30 years.
Over the coming weeks and months we're going to see a lot of finger pointing at the warning system, at hydropower developers, at different agencies within the government. Some of it may be deserved.
But scientists know that rising temperatures likely played a role.
So if you want to point the finger, point it at the fossil fuel companies that are stopping at nothing to make more money at the expense of the planet and the rest of us.
Since this is getting some traction, I suppose I should mention that applications to Cohort 10 of the @Climatebase Fellowship close Aug 24th.

From me, a list of Trump supporters who killed, or tried to kill, Democrats and opponents of Trump in recent years (since the right are now claiming all the political violence is from the left!)

Two men giving hand signals right before Charlie Kirk was shot shows that we're probably right - that this was a professional hit job, and Kirk's assassination was probably issued by Trump. Who are these two men?

Jessica: Let's say a Democratic president had absolutely no respect for congress, a coequal branch, appropriating funds, tariff policy.
Let's say that a Democrat was deploying the National Guard to cities controlled by Republicans.
Let's say that a Democratic president was shaking down private businesses and saying give me 10% of Intel and maybe I will make things more favorable
Let's say a Democratic president said I want to control what goes in our museums, life on campuses
You know that if a Democratic president was doing any of these things, you would be outraged.

All these years later, Evander Holyfield is still missing the piece of the ear Mike Tyson bit off. Probably just not as fast a healer as Trump.

Anyone consider that maybe Elon’s mission, is for Elon to get what he wants, rather than the country to get what you voted for ?
It’s not a shock for Elon , or anyone, to put their personal goals first
Elon seems to be on a mission to protect brand Elon at all costs. No ?
Free Speech is everything. Until it’s anything related to Elon. Who has complete control over speech here on X
The censorship of the platform you adore is in the hands of a single person, who is on a mission to make himself the most powerful person in the world.
above and beyond the President of the United States.

"You could not pay me to marry outside of my ethnicity."
"Normalize Indian hate."
These are the words of the DOGE staffer that was given direct read and write access to the US Treasury system controlling $6T in payments.
What the hell are we doing?

I hear Elon is really mad about everybody calling him a Nazi & he’s suspending accounts calling him a Nazi, so I just want to make it clear that Elon Musk is definitely a Nazi

I'm going to post this video every day so we never forget INSURRECTIONIST TRUMP!
I predict that high-value, curated, verifiably human communities are among the most defensible businesses in the age of AI.
Here's why:
The social internet is splitting into two realities: one driven by real human connection, the other by AI-generated content consumption.
AI isn’t just generating more content—it’s reshaping social media into a passive experience, where engagement loops replace conversation, and synthetic interactions drown out human presence.
Most social platforms are no longer designed for connection—they prioritize retention and content consumption over meaningful contribution. The Dead Internet Theory suggests that soon, even our interactions will be automated—blurring the line between real engagement and AI-generated simulation. Social platforms aren’t just filling feeds with synthetic content; they’re replacing human interaction entirely.
As algorithmic feeds optimize for consumption over contribution, new curated communities will become the last real spaces offering verified human connection—not because people reject AI, but because humans will always value interactions with each other differently than they do with machines. As long as we see ourselves as distinct from artificial intelligence, we will continue to place a premium on authentic human relationships, especially in a digital landscape increasingly populated by synthetic engagement. Platforms that try to balance engagement at scale with genuine participation will struggle because optimizing for one always comes at the expense of the other.
Some platforms will still claim to foster real connection, but their incentives will likely betray them. LinkedIn, like many others, is already shifting toward AI-generated content feeds—less a professional community, and more a personal branding platform.
Traditional social media isn’t disappearing—ironically, it's just becoming something far less social. I predict that it will remain, but as a space for entertainment, branding, and influence, while real online human connection will increasingly find its home in curated communities that truly provide the sense of belonging that humans naturally seek out in each other.
Thoughts? Agree/disagree, and why?

Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy will have to divest their business holdings if they want to join the Trump administration, to avoid violating conflict-of-interest laws.
So if Elon takes a job, could he be forced to sell his stock in Tesla?
Or could he be forced to sell Twitter?

It's weird to me how many North Carolina voters decided to elect Democrats for Governor, Senator, and a whole lot of other positions, but they were like "nah" to Kamala.
I've never seen that happen before. And as long as we don't storm the Capitol, why can't we DEMAND an investigation?
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
North Carolina did not vote for U.S Senator in the 2024 election, and has not elected a democratic senator since 2008.
