We should be able to give all kids access to a great education. That's one reason why Simone Gordon from @Ed4Excellence loves the Student Bill of Rights in our Ten Commitments.

Parents and teachers agree: we can’t just wait for education to become a national priority again. We need a real plan to help every child in America succeed. That's why we're joining more than 60 other organizations in launching @EdPwrOrg and the Ten Commitments to Public Education. @NationalParents' Keri Rodrigues & our CEO @EvanRStone wrote about these commitments and how we can ensure that the promise of public education is kept. @The74 the74million.org/article/10-…

Another horrible tragedy in another community. We must find a way for our schools to be safe. I grieve for the families who have lost their babies and the others who will need to support their kids to process this trauma. nytimes.com/live/2026/10/15/…

The single thing @NYCMayor mayor could do to keep families in NYC is to make the public schools excellent. Excellent. I am waiting for the mayor to say: "I'm here to make this city's public schools the envy of the world. I'm here to make the schools so excellent you don't want to send your kids anywhere else. We will give your kids a world-class education, right here in NYC."

Walking away from #NYCReads would mean walking away from what teachers say is working. The work isn’t finished. Listen to educators. Invest in improvement. But don’t go backward. My @NYDailyNews op-ed: nydailynews.com/2026/08/20/n… @Ed4Excellence

Extra special Father’s Day this year. I was incredibly proud to cast my vote this morning alongside my incredible wife and our amazing kids. Above all else, this campaign is about building a better city and country for their future. Having them by my side throughout this journey has been the greatest gift of all.

Thank you for recognizing the importance of federal law. Speaking of which, Congress clarified that “no authorities exist” for these IAAs. ICYMI, see page 83 of the Joint Explanatory Statement for the FY 2026 Labor-HHS-ED appropriations law. 🔗docs.house.gov/billsthisweek…
False. IDEA, as an education law, ensures that a child’s disability isn't viewed as a medical condition that needs to be treated. No partnership can alter the rights individuals are afforded under federal law.

The risks of tech for public education are real but blanket bans would be disastrous because we need AI, used in a smart and safe way, to help us overcome intractable obstacles to student success, most importantly what I call the "Catch-up Crisis." the74million.org/article/ame…
