Always good to see leaders of small countries speak truth to power while being diplomatic.
Michael Manley was the first to stand up against Apartheid. He was early but he wasn’t wrong and history has recognised Jamaica for that.

If an ingredient list says carmine, cochineal extract, or Natural Red 4, that's an insect. A scale insect farmed on cactus, mostly in Peru, dried and crushed. It takes around 70,000 of them to make a pound of dye. It's in strawberry yogurt, pink candy, juice, some cheese spreads, and most red lipstick.
Until 2011 the label didn't have to say much. Carmine could be listed as artificial color or just color added. FDA changed it after reports of severe allergic reactions including anaphylaxis, and now the name has to be printed. The part I find interesting is what FDA left out. The petition asked that labels also state the color comes from insects. The dairy industry objected, saying there was no need, and FDA agreed. So the rule is that the word carmine has to appear, and nothing has to tell you what carmine is.

So, today we had an inclusivity training and someone said, "I didn't know there was a Black version of Happy Birthday," and we explained to that person that the song was created by Stevie Wonder, and that person said, "who is Stevie Wonder?"

Whatever you do, don't move divided. Solo dolo will get you eaten out here. Pool your resources and stack! Know who is an asset in your life vs. who is a liability. Two incomes far outweigh carrying the load by yourself. Collaboration trumps competition every time.

Scammers are stealing homes from New Yorkers — and Black and Brown homeowners are being targeted the most.
We're launching the Mayor's Office of Deed Theft Prevention, led by Director Peter White, to defend vulnerable homeowners.
And we are pausing the tax lien sale for the next six months as we review and fix a broken system.
We are using every tool at our disposal to help New Yorkers stay in their homes in the city we love.
