I hate mixed messages on x. The Post starts off with: "AI is not real filmmaking" I get annoyed, I weigh in, basically tell the guy to go fuck himself, then as I take a second look at this thing all the way down in the middle of the second post it's talking about how he's now using AI for lighting. So someone is learning, but Being instantly blocked it seems I can't actually confirm what their stance is. Though the more I think about it this might just be bad user hypocrisy so I'm not gonna lose much sleep over it. Not a good day in age to be a fence sitter. The takeaway is basically somebody saying roughly: "AI filmmaking is not real Filmmaking..... But I'm a real filmaker and I use It only has a lighting tool, So I can still keep my smug opinions." Not feeling that. If that is the stance I simply do not support that filmmaker. "AI filmmaking is not real filmmaking unless I'm the one making the film" Is a Dick hot take regardless of one's opinion. The way I see it is if somebody is watching something that you produced and it's in video format you're a documentarian or a filmmaker regardless of what was used to make the thing. The people claiming AI is theft can simply fuck off. It's not true, it never was true, there is some murky history to the training of some of these models but it just doesn't fucking hold water any more than remixing or sampling.
