Please be aware part of permitted path PP455 above Tarr Steps Meadow is closed from 4th-7th November for contractors to remove debris from the tree catcher above Tarr Steps. There is an alternative route for walkers and riders. The meadow is still partially open to the public.

We are please to update that Haddon Car Park has reopened to the public from 4th November 2026. Wessex Water have completed this stage of their work at Wimbleball, and thank you for your patience.

We are pleased to update that the Natioanl Grid works to Bridleway 211BR16 at Hillsford Bridge have now been completed and the route will reopen from Saturday 31/10/2026.

Please be aware that part of Public Bridleway DU5/6 near Warren Farm, Exmoor Parish, is closed and NOT PASSABLE due to a significant landslip. Alternative routes are available for both riders and walkers see the plan below.

Please be aware 21 day closure of Bridleway DU1/24, Haddon Hill from 26/10 to 16/11/2026 for Wessex Water esssential works. An alternative route for walkers shown in blue, no alternative route for horse riders and cyclists. Haddon Car Park is closed too until 4/11/2026.

Please be aware that Haddon Hill Car Park is closed from 21/10-4/11/2026 for Wessex Water to carry out emergency works to protect public water supply. Wessex Water apologise for inconvenience caused.

Please be aware that the permitted path across Wimbleball Dam will be closed next week from 19-23 October 2026 for essential works by Wessex Water. Please see plan below

Please be aware of the 21 day closure of part of Public Footpath WL19/2 on Porlock Marsh for boardwalk repairs. There is an alternative route which is shown below in blue.

Public Footpath WL25/27 has now opened, safety works to the tree have been completed. Thank you to the landowner for their prompt actions to get the path reopened.

Please be aware that Public Footpath WL25/27 Wanneroo Farm, Timberscombe, is closed due to a dangerous tree leaning adjacent to the footpath. Works are planned for next week and the path will be reopened once it is safe to do so.

The stepping stones have now been reset and are safe to cross for walkers when river conditions are low. Thanks to our Field Service Team for getting this done so quickly.

WARNING The stepping stones downstream of Withypool have shifted in recent storms and are not passable for walkers. The bridleway remains open using the adjacent ford. Walkers and cyclists would need to wade to cross the river when river levels are low, or cross at Withypool.

The works to Kemps Lane have now been completed and the Restricted byway has now reopened. @ExmoorRangers

Please be aware from 1st June '26, of the temporary closure of Restricted Byway DU10/55, Kemps Lane, Winsford for resurfacing works. See alternative route below. Works are expected to be completed within a few days and will reopen when safe to do so.
