Aight but this still doesn't make TiMi much less of a bunch of bums who NEVER did shit to fix issues like matchaking, ban Comfey bot accounts and everything else that has surely nothing to see with TPC's role.
It's good to have a better understanding of why they shut down tho.

This information is more reliable about the situation on the renewal of the contract, I cant share sources or anything specific for obvious reasons.
First Thing Im gonna say its that TiMi team its really serious with UNITE and they were really appasionate with it
At firts Timi wanted to re-negotiate the budget on UNITE to make it bigger even some of the copyrights (Im gonna guess designs on Holowears, Trainers...etc.) be equal as TPC
TPC here refuses and terminates the renewal of the contract, NOT TiMi LIKE SOME PEOPLE ARE SAYING.
That made TiMi basically focus on other games of their Own IP's.

The game is not vanishing completely. A library feature lets players keep their records, Holowear, and achievements visible even after the servers go dark. But viewing your trophy case is not the same as playing the match that earned it.
That is the actual gap people feel with live-service games. The memory can be preserved, the relationship cannot. You can still see the rank you climbed to, you just cannot climb it with the same people again.
Five years is long enough to build real friendships inside a game. The Pokemon survive the shutdown. The team you played with might not find each other again.
Pokémon Unite is shutting down after 5 years. Online battles end March 23, 2027, on both Switch and mobile.
Five years of a community that built friendships, rivalries, and routines around a free Pokémon MOBA, going dark on a scheduled date.
This is the part of live-service games nobody likes to think about: you don’t own it, you’re renting it, and one day the servers just stop. Pour one out for Unite.
In all seriousness I genuinely, GENUINELY PRAY that Unite goes down as THE prime exemple of how NOT to handle a video game for the entire rest of the gaming industry.
If Nintendo were to make another MOBA for one of their licenses, PLEASE hand it to ANYONE but TiMi again 🫠
