#Noirvember Day 1 recommendation: DOUBLE INDEMNITY (1944) by Billy Wilder.
An insurance salesman falls for a married woman and before long, the two are plotting to kill her husband for his life insurance money. But neither of them seems prepared for the lies, paranoia and trouble that come with trying to get away with murder.
Billy Wilder delivers an almost impossibly entertaining combination of murder, seduction, sharp dialogue, cynical humor and suspense.
Few films have captured the seductive relationship between desire and self-destruction quite like DOUBLE INDEMNITY (1944).
If you've never experienced film noir, this is where you start.
