ALT SAC Karr contributed a quote to a USAO-Eastern District of Wisconsin press release today announcing a Wisconsin woman was sentenced to 28 months in federal prison for healthcare fraud. Karr: “Lori Butts exploited a government program and stole from the American taxpayers by billing for services never provided to disabled Wisconsin adults. The FBI is committed to working with our law enforcement partners to hold accountable individuals who defraud the government for personal gain and enrichment. The message is clear, if you steal from American citizens, justice will find you.”

ALT Quote from FBI Milwaukee SAC Alan Karr on a sentencing from Wednesday in the Eastern District of Wisconsin. Karr: “Kevin McCaa’s heinous crime was deserving of the significant sentence he received for murdering Aundre Cross, an innocent victim who was doing his job as an employee of the U.S. Postal Service. While the sentencing cannot bring Mr. Cross back to his family and friends, hopefully it will be a step forward in the healing process. The joint efforts of the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, Milwaukee Police Department, and the FBI in this case exemplifies the importance of law enforcement collaboration. The FBI remains committed to working with our federal, state, and local partners to combat violent crime and seek justice for victims.”

ALT Quote from FBI Milwaukee SAC Alan Karr on a sentencing from Tuesday in the Eastern District of Wisconsin. Karr: “Ankurkumar Patel conspired with others to fraudulently obtain and launder over $1 million from elderly victims through a fraud scheme. His scheme included posing as technical support and impersonating government officials to swindle everyday Americans out of their hard-earned money. In some instances, he would retrieve cash and gold from his victims while in other instances he would use couriers to pick up the valuables. Victims were in several states to include Wisconsin. The FBI is committed to investigating those who exploit vulnerable individuals for their own personal gain.”
