A few days ago, FBI Springfield personnel had an incredible time partnering with Compass for Kids to support local elementary students.
Connecting with our community is at the heart of what we do, and we loved the opportunity to mentor these bright students, engage in enrichment activities, and help empower Springfield's next generation of leaders. Strong communities are built on strong partnerships, and we are incredibly grateful for the amazing work Compass for Kids does every day for local families!
FBI Springfield participated in a full-scale emergency preparedness exercise led by the Illinois State Police Special Operations Command’s Statewide Weapons of Mass Destruction Team on October 7 at the Illinois State Fairgrounds.
The exercise simulated a large public event that escalated into a Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosive (CBRNE) threat. This training brought together multiple municipal, state, and federal partners to strengthen real-time coordination, test response capabilities, and enhance communication during complex incidents.
We appreciate the collaboration of all participating agencies and remain committed to working alongside our public safety partners to protect the communities we serve.
On October 1, FBI Springfield was proud to celebrate the graduation of our 2026 Citizens Academy class. Participants spent several weeks learning about the FBI’s mission, programs, and investigative responsibilities, and engaged directly with our special agents, professional staff, and leadership.
Thank you to all the graduates for your commitment, thoughtful questions, and partnership in strengthening public safety. We are grateful for your time and for your interest in understanding how we work to protect our communities.
Congratulations to the 2026 Citizens Academy graduates!
