This highlights the need to continue educating people about the difference between stories and personal opinion (even when AI generated) and legitimate, evidence-based research.

They've gone and added an AI disclaimer to the post now which doesn't quite admit the whole damn thing is AI generated facilitatedcommunication.com…

"Kaufer seems to have an exorbitant and unfounded fear of message passing tests that, in his article, he projects onto his nonspeaking or minimally speaking clients and loved ones—so much so that I wonder if he’s read the original studies."

Proponents post images and "personal" messages of their clients (often young children) in public forums and then throw a buggy when critics of FC/S2C/RPM point out the techniques are pseudoscientific and likely facilitator generated. They can't have it both ways.
Also dig FC influencer David Kaufer's AI generated comment on my piece, where he (or rather his AI) accuses me of lacking basic human decency for recognizing AI when I see it:

Fantastic piece by @DrJerroldCoe on the dual, mutually reinforcing communication rights threats of AI and FC.

If "spelling" proponents would actually read the critical reviews of FC/S2C/RPM perhaps they wouldn't be so quick to embrace the techniques.
The FC critics are reading it, maybe "spelling" proponents like @comm4allorg should take a peek: nitter.cf/FCisnotScience/status/…

The "but still" part of your comment is the part proponents of FC/S2C/RPM and telepathy count on and never resolve. Reliably controlled testing would, most likely, resolve the "but still." If not, then tests could be set up to resolve questions that arise from the first tests.
Some of that was impressive and some of it was complete misses. I want to see more. I mean, if that kid and the person in the room with them were really blind to the target, "Grazing" is an amazing hit. Plus, the dream with the sphere and for stars. Not controlled but still interesting.

Proponents of FC/S2C/RPM and telepathy. If you really want to get our attention, please submit citation information to reliably controlled authorship tests. We're happy to review scientifically rigorous evidence of your claims.

“ I have a sense that most, if not all proponents understand on some level what would happen if they participated in such studies. Why else would they so aggressively avoid them?”

Proponents want to talk about metaphysical and theological issues before determining who is controlling letter selection via FC/S2C/RPM. There is nothing to debate. Reliably controlled tests to date clearly show facilitator cueing and control over letter selection.
Yeah, that makes sense considering the added layers of metaphysical and theological claims and questions involved compared to the scientific testing of claims through falsifiable methods. Perhaps w/ the right person/approach, a debate could help inform a wider audience about FC

Sending this to the principal who nearly fired me, a trainee teacher when NO ONE in their right mind would work there, when I said that learning styles are a myth.
Yet another empirical investigation concludes no validity to VAK learning styles. psycnet.apa.org/doiLanding?d…
