My take: “Positioning themselves as the party trying to save the regime strikes me as a losing political strategy [for Democrats] ahead of the 2028 presidential campaign,” said Mark Dubowitz of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies @FDD, a think tank that has helped shape the Trump team’s thinking on Tehran.”
From @nahaltoosi: “And what if Trump keeps the military and economic pressure going and — hear me out — the effort works? What if the regime somehow melts away during his final years in office? Will Democrats look like they were on the wrong side of history? I can imagine the Democrats’ press releases now: “The Iranian regime was always a blight upon the world …”

Behind the scenes of U.S. midterm races, another campaign is quietly taking shape. Congress is poised to vote on the Trump administration’s proposed nuclear cooperation agreement with Saudi Arabia.
The agreement would open the door to exporting U.S. uranium enrichment technology for the first time since the Manhattan Project. That marks a dangerous break with eight decades of bipartisan American nonproliferation policy — and with numerous statutes Congress itself has written.
Lawmakers should oppose the agreement in its current form.

Got to hand it to Qatar: when it comes to buying influence and corrupting democracies, they’re impressively nonpartisan. Left, right, radical left, radical right — no ideology is off-limits, no political camp beyond reach. Their only loyalty: their own interests and the advancement of Islamism. Their greatest success is eroding public trust in our democratic institutions from every direction.

My piece with Catarina Buchatskiy from Serpens Center. Beleaguered democracies like Ukraine & Taiwan need to work together to defeat aggressors like Russia, China, North Korea & Iran. And the US should be helping these countries not hindering them

My new @nypost op-ed: The Islamic Republic only survives on war. Don't give the regime what it craves.
I spent years at @USTreasury squeezing this regime and I want it gone. That's exactly why the next round of bombs should stay in the racks.
This regime is built to fight, not to govern. A blackout in wartime is a sacrifice the IRGC can police; in a cease-fire, it's a failure the regime must explain.
Hold the blockade. Make them run the country they broke.

When you're seeing what's happening in Paris and what has been happening in countries like France over the last couple of decades, I mean, people just generally speaking have very short memories. The U.S., Canada, and Mexico have spent three decades building North American manufacturing and co-production — that integration delivers value to all three economies. American prosperity is bolstered through deeper trade alliances with the right partners and harmonized rules to protect free markets.

America’s Military Presence Reshapes Hormuz
The U.S. military is performing two tough tasks superbly and simultaneously: implementing a naval blockade of Iran and facilitating the export of non-Iran oil through the Strait of Hormuz.
Tehran's attacks on commercial vessels will continue. Tough days ahead. But progress is undeniable.
So, next time you see an American service member, tell them “thank you.”
Then go home and call Congress and ask what they are doing to ensure our troops have the resources they require.

“Battles against the terrorist regime in Iran and its proxies will continue, as will the fight against disinformation and blind hate that unfairly targets Israel. But that does not absolve Israel from making some crucial decisions about its own conduct. The fate of the US-Israel alliance could hang in the balance.”
Israel's Moment of Truth
Decisions in the coming days will prove pivotal in determining whether the erosion in support for Israel in the United States is reversed or devolves further into a full rupture that makes both Americans and Israelis less secure.
