Today we are launching something nobody has built before: the world's first high resolution, deep learning AI hail prediction model. 🧵
Severe Thunderstorms are expected across the Great Plains today, with the highest risk centered around Central Oklahoma.
Presented by a sneak peak into the future of the FLASH Weather Mobile App👀👀👀

It's the best time of the year. Happy Autumnal Equinox!
What are you most excited for this fall? Pumpkin patches? Apple picking? Football?

.@FLASHWeather_ would’ve had direct impact on the outcomes of massive games yesterday in both the SEC and ACC.
Very likely, Flash would’ve prevented a premature delay in the UNC/Clemson game, leading to the game coming to a conclusion prior to the actual delay needed over 30-45Mins later.
In Tuscaloosa, Flash showed that the dying cell to the east of Bryant-Denny would’ve had ZERO safety impacts to the players and fans in attendance. Instead we got an another pointless delay and another restart of the archaic 30 minute rule.
College football is a multi-billion dollar industry and we are using technology and methods from the 80s/90s to make crucial decisions that not only impact safety, but the outcomes of games that are deciding who will be intention for conference titles and college football playoff births. It’s ridiculous.
Case and point, is @espn serious with the visuals they use on screen?
This can all be made exponentially more efficient, but conferences and schools have no ability to think outside the box when it comes to be proactive instead of reactive with the weather…

This is a hasty generalization but lightning modeling/detection didn’t change for decades…
Until @FLASHWeather_ came along! They blew the game dead in Clemson 45 minutes before they needed to.
Ludicrous!

With both Bama/FSU and Clemson/UNC in lightning delays as well as Jordan Hare getting hit hard ahead of Auburn/Florida, there is no better App to have to track and predict lightning during CFB season than @FLASHWeather_.
@JamesBryantWX @JoshPateCFB @ESPNCFB
The ABC primetime game in Baton Rouge between LSU and Clemson will likely be delayed well beyond the anticipated 6:30CT kick.
Lightning is detected within 1 mile of the stadium and our Deep Learning model has high probability of lightning through the next hour.

The All Clear was just sent by our DL for Tiger Stadium. The 90-Min warmup period prior to kickoff should be good to start shortly. @cbfowler @KirkHerbstreit
From the Miami Herald to the Raleigh News & Observer and the Sacramento Bee...

Look for more in the coming weeks!
It's back to school season, and the heat isn't going anywhere.
Glenwood Community High School in Glenwood, Iowa is using Flash to stay ahead of both lightning and heat. His coaches get a 7-day Wet Bulb Globe Temperature forecast plus patented lightning prediction, not just detection. That means practices and games change early, not after it's too late.
A story in 3 parts…
1.) Pop up cell develops with no strikes yet detected…
2.) FLASH’s Deep Learning model predicts elevated threat of strikes within the cell.
3.) Cell then produces a strike within minutes.
Predicting lightning before it even develops🤯🤷🏼♂️
A huge shoutout and a big thanks to Corey Johnson, Director of Golf at Bocaire Country Club, for sharing how FLASH keeps his team ahead of the storm. We don't wait for lightning to strike. We see it coming, so your players and staff are off the course before it ever gets close.

While there have been no strikes yet with the cell impacting the @PGATOUR event at TPC River Highlands, the FLASH Lightning probability is showing a high chance of lightning occurring effectively at any moment…
Blue sky doesn't mean you're safe. A "bolt from the blue" can strike 10+ miles from the storm.
Don't let a clear sky be your green light, let Flash's All Clear map make the Go or No-Go call. Know when it's actually safe to head back out.
When thunder roars, head indoors!
If you can hear thunder, you're already close enough to be struck. There's no safe distance once a storm is in earshot.
Flash flips it all. You get a push alert before you hear the skies rumbling, so you're already moving to safety while everyone else is still looking up wondering if that was thunder.
Don't wait to hear it. Know before it strikes. Link in bio to download.
