This is huge, and it is not new. Let me break it down.
Think about GPS. Uber and Google Maps both run on it. Nobody calls Uber "a GPS company." GPS is the signal. The apps are what you use.
@FlareNetworks works the same way. Its job is to deliver data that smart contracts can trust: prices from the FTSO, and proof from the Data Connector that something happened on another chain, like an XRP payment landing.
XRPFi is an app on that signal. FXRP only gets minted after the Data Connector proves your XRP payment and the FTSO prices the collateral. No trusted data, no product.
So it was never data OR XRPFi. One is the ground the other stands on.

Where GPS falls short: it comes from one government. Flare's price feeds come from around 100 independent providers per feed.
