Happy #WorldVFXDay everyone !!
#WorldVFXDay has started its mission to shine a light on the crucial work VFX studios and artists are doing for the film industry. But for a while they haven't gotten the credit they deserve.

🛰️ Brilliantly summarizing “Iconic Moments in VFX History” at #WorldVFXDay 🌐, industry-icon and always welcome FMX-guest Paul Franklin (@dneg, Oscar-winner with “Interstellar” and “Inception”) started with the truly iconic masterpiece “Star Wars: Episode IV” (1977):
“The motion control developed for that movie made a huge difference”, Paul said, referring to spacecraft chases and the attack on the Death Star. Iconic speech! 🚀 #VFX #visualeffects #starwars #motioncontrol #FMX #dneg
Finding the right mentor can change careers, lives, perspectives – as HR-expert @SimonDevereux (@Framestore, @AccessVfx) and esteemed #FMX partner has just pointed out at #WorldVFXDay with mentors and mentees talking about their experiences. Thank you for sharing! 🙌

And: “VFX have become so invisible that people believe there aren’t any.” @ianfailes: “There is sometimes this perception that cg-shots are bad and ruin the movie.” Jonas Ussing: “Sometimes they say we didn’t cheat – like if using cgi would be cheating.”
And of course there is proof Jonas Ussing has collected in a series of breakdown clips: youtube.com/watch?v=7ttG90ra…
