Alaska residents, veterans, and community advocates gathered for “Nobody Asked Us," a town hall in Fairbanks raising concerns about proposals to build massive AI data centers across the state and demanding answers about who stands to benefit — and who will be left paying the bill.

Wisconsin's data center sales tax break is projected to cost $1.5 BILLION through 2028, plus $369 million a year from the electricity exemption.
That's school and road money, handed to Big Tech.

Our own Maura Quint in Fairbanks, Alaska lays out to a packed room exactly what local residents can and should do to fight back against greedy Big Tech corporations looking to force data centers on their communities:
"We are here to lift your voices, and we're hoping you will engage this fight at every level of government and ask these questions. Press your local elected and ask them to oppose property tax and sales tax cuts for data centers, refuse to allow state officials to give up public land for cheap, and demand that your senators commit to rolling back all of these tax loopholes that big tech companies are using to get out of paying billions of dollars that they owe us."

Longtime Fairbanks resident Tom Bachert, who once worked at a data center, expressed his frustration with local politicians allowing the surge of tech companies into Alaska to build more of the facilities:
"I'm really sick of our government giving billionaires and huge corporations tax breaks, land for free and all that - and for what? They promise us all kinds of jobs and development, but I sure am not seeing that."

A former local school board member Chrya Sanderson stood up at our “Nobody Asked Us" town hall in Fairbanks, Alaska last night and gave an impassioned argument against the big corporations coming in to destroy her community with data centers - and she ended with this call to action amid rousing applause:
"I challenge us to continue to let your voice be heard. Make your vote. I voted early, and I voted my conscience because I am tired of a lot of this - this is crazy. They do not have our benefit in mind. So we need to come together, we need to let our voices be heard, and we need to bombard them and let them know that they just didn't ask us. They don't have an opinion here. This is where we live, raised our children, and have out property and community, and we want to continue to see the beauty and the best that Alaska has to offer - and I don't believe it's with these centers.”

When Trump says, "We're making a freaking fortune," he doesn't mean you or working Americans, he means his billionaire buddies in Big Oil who financed his campaign.
Remember: Trump's planning to re-intensify the war in a few days. He doesn't give a damn how it hurts Americans.

House Republicans knew their “One Big Ugly Bill” would rip away health care from millions of seniors, kids, American workers and people with disabilities. They voted for it, and praised it, anyway to give tax breaks to our billionaires and our trillionaire. Now, health care and health insurance are way more expensive for everyone.
Plutocracy and inequality make us poorer and sicker as a society.

We'll share what Meta tells senators ⬇️
Meta has until Saturday to answer senators about how it cut its own federal taxes by $6.6B by labeling AI data centers as research. If a family tried this BS with their mortgage, they'd get an audit. datacenterdynamics.com/en/ne…
