๐จ๐ตI genuinely donโt understand the obsession with 3-4-3.
People see three centre-backs and automatically assume it makes the team more defensively solid, but that isnโt always the case. The wing-backs are often positioned very wide, almost hugging the touchline, which stretches the entire team and creates bigger gaps between players.
Instead of making us compact, it can actually make us easier to play through when the opponent wins the ball and attacks the spaces between our players.
For me, defensive solidity isnโt just about how many defenders you have. Itโs about the distances between the players and how quickly the team can shift together.
If the wing-backs are constantly holding the width, we can end up defending with huge spaces to cover. ๐
