Facing a Hawks team who played last night Brooklyn needs to throw a big punch in the first quarter and let Mikel and Nolan keep leading the separate rotations🔥😎🧐.

The big lines, MPJ is 40.8 million expiring and extension eligible, Houston holds swap rights on our 2027 first but we owe nobody a first outright, and the kids options for next year total about 21.7 million. Full ledger pinned soon. Know your assets, Brooklyn.

Draft Day Big Board Series | BIGS - 2027
Obinna Ekezie Jr. - 7’2 - Louisville - C
Obinna Ekezie Jr. is a 7’2”, 240-pound freshman center for the Louisville Cardinals who reclassified from the Class of 2027 and immediately established himself as one of the most intriguing big-man prospects in the 2027 NBA Draft. The son of former Maryland standout and NBA player Obinna Ekezie Sr., the Nigerian-born big man arrived with rare physical tools—a near 7’5” wingspan, elite vertical athleticism, and a massive standing reach—paired with the kind of basketball intellect that separates high-level prospects. Louisville coach Pat Kelsey has specifically highlighted his instincts and veteran-level feel for the game, and Ekezie’s off-court profile (pre-engineering/computer science major who enjoys coding) reinforces the “very smart and technical” label. I missed him on my preseason Top 60 even after featuring him, but after early returns he is clearly first-round talent with legitimate upside into the lottery conversation.
On the floor, Ekezie profiles as a mobile rim protector and play finisher who can also stretch the floor. He is an excellent vertical threat out of pick-and-rolls and the dunker spot, finishes efficiently at the rim, and already shows soft touch and timing on the offensive glass. Defensively, his length, timing, and instincts make him a deterrent around the basket; he averaged strong block numbers in high school and flashed that same impact early at Louisville. In a high-profile exhibition at Kansas he posted 16 points (including 4-of-6 from three), 8 rebounds, and 5 blocks in just 19 minutes, showcasing the rare combination of size, shooting range, and defensive presence. While he is still adding strength and refining his lateral mobility, the technical foundation, high basketball IQ, and elite physical tools make him a clear first-round prospect who should only rise as he gains college experience.
