Lauren Eden’s mom was 18, in college, and scared.
She tried abortion clinics in three states. Each one told her she was too far along. Then one agreed and started the procedure.
The next morning, Lauren’s parents walked back into that clinic together and stopped it.

Hilda Espipia was born in Bogotá, Colombia, in 1945. Her mother tried to end the pregnancy with herbal concoctions. They failed.
Hilda grew up frail. Her mother abused her. In therapy as an adult, Hilda learned she had been unwanted, and her mother admitted the attempts.
By 1992, Hilda was married with four children. Her mother lived with them, and Hilda took care of her.

At 42, Denisha Workizer sent her dad a “random weird question”: Did Mom ever consider an abortion with me?
She was standing in a Culver’s, cheese curds in one hand, when his answer came back. Her mother had tried to abort her twice.
Her parents had always called her their “miracle baby.”

Jessica Williams' then-husband pressured her into taking the abortion pill during their divorce. She ordered it online without ever meeting a doctor.
Within 24 hours, her mind, body, and spirit spiraled. As a registered nurse, she knew there was still a chance her unborn daughter was alive.
A pregnancy resource center prescribed Abortion Pill Reversal. It worked.
Her daughter Kaylie survived. She's now 3: healthy, beautiful, and thriving.

Every "choice" has a face attached to it.
We're talking about a person, not a policy or a talking point.
Some of these "choices" survive — with a name, a family, and a life they're living right now.

Come face to face with living survivors of abortion procedures in this powerful commercial:

Penny's mother was 23 weeks pregnant when her doctor performed an induction abortion.
At 1 pound, 11 ounces, Penny was wrapped in a face towel and left in a bedpan on the back porch of the clinic.
Those were the doctor's orders. But not everyone went along with them.

In March 1978, a young woman checked into Mt. Sinai Hospital in Cleveland for an abortion.
Her son was born alive. He spent weeks in intensive care at Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital, then went home — with her.
Doctors "had a very hard time making her realize she had a child." She kept saying: "But I had an abortion."
She did have an abortion. She also had a son.

When Sarah Herm found out she was pregnant with her fourth child, the baby's father told her she "wasn't ready."
Before giving her the pills, a clinic worker said something she'll never forget: "You are lucky the heartbeat bill hadn't passed... We detect a strong heartbeat." Then they gave her the pills anyway.
Sarah took the first pill, and instantly regretted it. She found a hotline for Abortion Pill Reversal, and her son was born healthy on January 11, 2019.
Today, he's thriving.

Every survivor in our stories lived through an attempted abortion. Someone wanted them dead.
They would have reason to feel anger, sadness, and heartbreak.
And yet forgiveness shows up again and again in what they tell us — grace extended to the very people who tried to end them.

Dr. Kathi Aultman's friends knew where she stood on abortion. They didn't judge her.
Then one of them asked her to read an article.
And she saw herself in a way she never had before.

Catherine Pressly Herring’s husband of 11 years tried to force an abortion on her.
It started with a glass of water he told her to “chug.” It continued 7 times.
Doctors feared kidney failure. Catherine survived, and so did her daughter, born at 30 weeks. After months in the NICU, her daughter is now four and thriving.
Catherine’s story is a warning. Abortion pills are easy to get online, with no exam and no in-person visit. That puts mothers and their children at risk.

Happy Birthday, Zechariah Hagan!
In 2013, his mother began a medication abortion, then changed her mind minutes later. He became one of the first babies to survive through abortion pill reversal.
Choice is not merely a word. Choice is a person.

In 1992, a 17-year-old was convinced by Planned Parenthood counselors to have an abortion. Her family was told it was complete.
A month later, doctors found it had failed — the pregnancy hadn't ended. One doctor claimed the baby had "abnormalities" and urged a second abortion. She refused. Another physician said plainly: "This little baby is meant to be."
Lauren Pulliam was born that November, "absolutely perfect in every way."
(Human Life International archives, 1992)
Abortion survivors are real.
They grow up, marry, raise children, build careers, and lead ministries. They forgive the people who tried to end their lives — and choose, every day, to live fully, not just survive.

Paula Page was 30, nursing her newborn fourth child, when her father told her a story about her mother.
In 1953, an illegal abortion attempt on Paula's mother failed. Paula was born at 3 pounds, 1 ounce, with lasting injuries. Doctors said she'd never carry a baby to term. She's since had four children of her own.

Her name was Eloise. 8 months into her mother Anna's pregnancy, she was healthy with no complications.
Then her father decided he didn't want her. He pressured doctors in Germany to find a legal justification to abort her. When none existed, he found a clinic overseas and threatened her mother, Anna, until she agreed to fly there.
Eloise never got the chance to be anything other than a choice someone else made for her.
