I was going to do some things but a baby just fell asleep on my lap so I am stuck in this chair forever or until he wakes up.
Remember, remember...
Guy Fawkes never followed @OldHollowTree and look what happened to him.
We're sitting in a waiting room, and my daughter sighs dramatically, "I wanted to color, but there is just a crossword puzzle here, and it's too early to do a crossword."
"Every election I don't win is fake and rigged. It's obvious. There is no way more people disagree with me than agree."
This is the position of every politician for all of history.
The forecast calls for relatively mild weather for the next couple of weeks, but when I opened the chicken coop this morning, none of the hens would come out.
All the wild turkeys were still roosting in the trees well after sunrise.
The animals know something is brewing.

Elections can't change that.
I voted. Then my wife called and asked who to vote for, so I texted her my list, and now she is voting.
I did my part; now I'll make popcorn and watch the world burn.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Grandad Farms of Emmett, Idaho, announces that all of its packaging will be English only. There will be no second-language panels and no "press 1 for English" when customers call. Grandad Farms remains committed to producing food for Americans.
The Western Larch (although some folks around here call them tamarack) turn a bright yellow-gold in October-November before losing all their needles. A very unusual conifer.
It's election day. Don't forget to vote "No" on any levies. Every government, no matter how big or small, local or federal, has ever met a dollar it didn't want, and it never manages to use them responsibly.
The only affliction more deadly than the dreaded man cold is a choppy conversation.
Women, keep those toddlers in line, lest your husband's train of thought be forever lost into the chop.
I'm a firm believer that when two men are talking, the children should never interrupt.
And if they interrupt, the mother of that child should generally be the one to intervene -- not the father.
This is how I was raised, and it's how we'll raise our kids. We're old-school.
I notice, for example, a massive difference when talking to Amish men versus non-Amish men.
Amongst Amish fathers, if a toddler fusses, his wife immediately and reflexively grabs the child and soothes it. The man does not lose his train of thought; he can engage his guest in deep, prolonged conversation that is never "choppy" or broken up.
This is exceedingly refreshing after spending time with so many non-Amish fathers -- who often allow themselves to be interrupted and diverted endlessly by screaming toddlers and so on. The "egalitarian" mentality so many men now espouse can result in conversations of such low quality that business relations and friendships actually suffer (or even fail to form in the first place) because Dad is always mothering the unruly kids.
There are exceptions of course; some old-school Italians, Mexicans, and some Eastern Europeans seem not to have gone for this stuff. But by the by, it seems to me that the conversational ability of fathers has tanked off a cliff ever since modern feministic parenting roles have been mainstreamed.
My debit card expired. The bank insisted they had sent a new card.
They sent it to a house I used to live in.
Years ago.
In another state.
They have my current address, but decided to use an address from a decade ago instead.
I see the "iSn'T sTanDaRd tIMe TeRribLe? LoCk tHe ClOcK on DST" talking points have gone out to all the political shills and useful idiots.

Here it is! November's gear hook up is this @NARescue SRO Crisis Response Kit. It would be excellent for a first responder or as an on-site MCI kit for a school or church. Let me know in the comments if you want to win this BUT you can also tag anyone or any organization that you think needs it to enter them as well. This will run from Nov 2nd-9th. Let's really push this out there so it can reach beyond our little bubble. Good luck everyone.
