A local reporter would ask him questions he doesn't want to answer. The On3 article was a PR piece by a reporter who doesn't have a clue why Arkansas football fans are frustrated with the AD.

My big takeaway from this: Hunter says they have fallen short in making the work inside the building more visible so that fans understand the changes they’ve made. But then why is this article behind a paywall? Why speak to a national reporter and not a local one? I find that very bizarre.

I wrote an article last year, arguing that mooching off of football for the benefit of every other sport on campus without investing into football would backfire when fans stopped showing up. This is over a decade in the making and has very little to do with Silverfield.

Arkansas ran the exact same play on 3rd and 4 as it did against Utah. KJ rolled to his right (why?) and his only option in the progression, realistically, was the tight end. He immediatey has a man in his face, just like at Utah, the defender in coverage doesn't bite on window-dressing and covers Lockwood. Pass incomplete. Hogs turn it over on downs next play.

If this is true, you can’t blame Silverfield for this mess, at least not entirely. You can’t expect him to produce an SEC roster when he was handcuffed to a non-SEC budget from the jump.

Of course, there are inexcusable things happening on the field that’s his fault, namely the offensive schemes and regression of a few players. But otherwise, most of these problems should be expected with 60+ new players.
