Monsignor Cyrus Passerine retweeted
Saint Michael the Archangel by Wolfgang Andreas Heindl,
ca.18th century
“…Much appreciated. I was unaware these woods had such an active supernatural community. I just wanted to clear my head.”
“And am I safe alongside the most dangerous creature in the forest? Or does the most dangerous creature residing here have something in store for me?”
“A little bit- with all this talk of danger… perhaps I should be going then.”
The crucifix was worn down from years of being touched when nervous.
“No, I was not aware of what lives here. But I’m guessing more not humans.”
He looks down to the cross he was fiddling with.
“Oh, I suppose I am. Subconsciously. I fiddle with it when I’m nervous.”
“I was just going for a scroll. Clearing my mind is all.”
He fiddles with the cross he wore around his neck. Mostly as a fidget toy, and less evoking the Lord. He looks to the side sheepishly.
Oh. He wasn’t expecting that. A small blush forms on Cyrus’s face as he looks into the other’s eyes. The eyes staring back at him were a leafy green.
“Ah… you’re not human, are you?”
He was dressed in the typical priest casual wear with a cardigan. He looks like a rabbit that’s about to bolt at any sudden movements.
“And why is that…?”
He can’t ever have a normal night. He freezes up when he hears someone behind him. He whips his head around to get a look at whoever had snuck up behind him.
“Hello?-“

« You shouldn’t turn your back to the danger, little mortal » he cooed, his voice dripping with mischief.

Cyrus was taking a late evening walk on a trail in the nearby forest, taking a break from his regular priestly duties. He made sure to keep to the path, unaware that anyone could possibly be watching him. He stopped to look at some flowers growing along the trail
