FCC OIG is pleased to share FCC’s Top Management and Performance Challenges for FY 2027. This report highlights the Commission’s key issues and priorities, significant progress achieved, and opportunities to strengthen oversight, accountability, and performance.
New FCC OIG Report. We audited FCC’s $4.98 billion Supply Chain Reimbursement Program – a national security program that reimburses eligible providers of advanced communications services for the removal,
replacement, and disposal of covered equipment deemed to pose an unacceptable risk. Our report included four findings and 13 recommendations to help strengthen and protect the program.

FCC OIG partnered with Commerce OIG & USDA OIG to develop version 3 of the Broadband Data Stroll, enabling user-driven analysis of federal broadband investments spanning multiple agencies. This version builds on our prior work, with updated awards data and several enhancements.

In honor of 9/11, members of our FCC OIG team joined together for community service to pay tribute to those who lost their lives, and to show gratitude to all who sacrifice to protect our nation. We’re proud to continue this tradition of service and remembrance.
New Report: We conducted an inspection of FCC’s COVID Telehealth Program, which reimbursed health care providers for services and equipment needed to provide remote health care during the Pandemic.
Our report made one finding regarding the reimbursement process and provided three related recommendations.

This week FCC OIG hosted its first Data Forum, bringing together over 100 key stakeholders to explore innovative ways to use data to bolster the administration/oversight of FCC programs! We're excited by all the ideas discussed and look forward to our continued collaboration!
Congratulations to FCC OIG Audit Directors Larry Rufai and Robert Hong on their acceptance into the CIGIE Fellows Program Cohort 7! We’re excited about their journeys ahead!
New Audit Report: We contracted with a firm to perform FCC’s FY 25 Payment Integrity Information Act (PIIA) Audit, which found that 10 of 11 FCC programs reviewed were compliant. The report made recommendations to help the Commission reduce improper payments.
Yesterday our IG enjoyed speaking with an awesome group of FCC summer interns about the importance of public service and the value of OIG oversight. We wish them all the best this fall!
