This year, Essex Libraries are celebrating a significant milestone, 100 years of serving communities across Essex. Since 1926, libraries have played a vital role in providing access to knowledge, learning and opportunity for generations of residents. Alongside their extensive book collections, today's libraries offer digital resources, skills development opportunities, cultural events, local history collections and inclusive spaces where communities can connect. Reflecting on the anniversary, Chairman of Essex County Council, Cllr Karen McIvor, highlighted the important contribution libraries continue to make to communities across Essex and encouraged residents to take part in the celebrations and visit their local library. Greg Abbott continued to get elected by fomenting fear that Mexicans and immigrants were going to take our jobs and destroy our way of life. That he actually had his job taken by a Mexican woman is a level of poetic justice worthy of a Dickens novel.

I will find her a job. I run a training business and skills academy. If someone can get me in touch with Casey - I’m pretty sure I can get her an interview and a job within 5 working days. If BBC can make this happen I’m more than happy to turn this into reality Young people need people to coach them, help them find a career. That’s what I do. If anyone can make this happen, hopefully I can turn a bad situation, into a positive one.
"If I had it my way I would be doing a nine-to-five every day. I would love to do that,” says Casey Smith. The 19-year-old is one of nearly a million young people in the UK classified as a Neet - not in education, employment, or training. Read more: bbc.in/4kvyJoT
