Standing at 293ft, this is the tallest Anglican parish church in UK, and the 7th tallest church overall.

This is the modest range of buildings — former stables, in fact! — in Littlemore, south of Oxford, where St. John Henry Newman was received into the Catholic faith.
And this is Oriel College, where he was chaplain from 1826–1831 and 1833–1835. (I hadn't known that John Keble had held the same position from 1817–1823.) His 'oratory' above the chapel was opened up and restored in the 1980s and beautified with stained glass.

Wednesday Archive Day. This is a view of the cottages known as the Fisheries cottages at Mitcham Bridge from 1984. The view is from the NT Watermeads a view today that is difficult due to the number of trees and other growth that has taken place in the Watermeads.

'Autumn.' (1944) I find it difficult to think of any British landscape painter of Rowland Hilder's generation (he was born in 1905) whose work is as widely known but whose name is not. His work touched a strain of nostalgia for an unchanged and unchanging landscape.

🇬🇧 🇫🇷 Au British Museum, le Roi et la Reine ont été rejoints par le Président de la France, Emmanuel Macron et Mme Brigitte Macron, le Premier ministre Andy Burnham et Mme Marie-France Van-Heel, pour visiter l'exposition de la Tapisserie de Bayeux au British Museum.
Suite à un accord historique entre le Royaume-Uni et la France, la Tapisserie de Bayeux a été prêtée par la France au Royaume-Uni pour la première fois depuis sa création il y a près de
1 000 ans. La Tapisserie de Bayeux représente les événements menant à la Conquête normande de l’Angleterre en 1066.
Les conservateurs ont montré à Leurs Majestés des scènes clés de la tapisserie avant de rejoindre les personnes impliquées dans le prêt et les élèves d’écoles britanniques et françaises, dans la Grande Cour du musée.
