Been up in The Peak District this week and saw a few live flowers on walks. Devil's-bit Scabious, Succisa pratensis, doing ok in the semi shade. Great plant. #wildflowerhour also spooky name so qualifies for #CommonNames as well.

Some delightful Green-winged Orchids locally, in Sussex. Colours mostly shades of purple, but a few off white beauties as well. #wildflowerhour @SussexWildlife

A nice scattering of Green Hairstreaks on the Downs behind Steyning yesterday. A few airborne confrontations between couples. One rumpus involving a Green Hairstreak and a Small Copper. @BcSussex @SussexWildlife

Celandine claiming its place among the woodland plants. Really good value plant, starting early and finishing late. Such a cheerful little flower. #WoodlandPlants #wildflowerhour.
