Tucker Carlson is deranged. He accuses me personally of ignoring a US citizen allegedly attacked in Judea/Samaria by Israelis & says I "blew him off." Tucker knows how to contact me, but he'd rather make unfounded accusations than get facts.
Here is a timeline of Embassy Jerusalem American Citizen Services' interactions on this case. We have never been able to speak directly to the father, (name redacted) who was allegedly injured in an attack by settlers, only to his son in Chicago, (name redacted). The son has repeatedly asked that he be the only person with whom we speak with.
19 Oct โ ACS received an email from (son) alleging his father had been attacked at his home in Turmusaya by settlers and was now at Istishari Hospital in Ramallah. We called the son in Chicago the same day and asked for contact information for his father which he was unwilling to provide. We followed up the same day with an email to (son).
20 Oct โ We followed up with another email to (son) asking for contact information. (Son) asked us to call him.ย We called the son twice that day and there was no answer. We called the hospital in Ramallah several times but were unable to reach anyone.
21 Oct โ Received another email from (son) saying his father was undergoing surgery at the hospital. We called the son in Chicago who said he would send contact information for next of kin in the WB which we didnโt receive. He stated he didnโt want to pursue the matter with the local authorities and said family members would travel from the States to the WB and wanted assurances they wouldnโt be denied entry at the airport.
22 Oct โ We spoke again with (son) who subsequently wrote in an emailโฆโThank you for taking the time to speak with me and for your understanding regarding the tragic incident involving my father. Thank you again for your time, support, and assistance during this difficult time.โย We responded in an email that we would like to speak directly with his father or his uncle and asked for local contact numbers. We didnโt receive any numbers. We received another email that same day saying his brother and mother were traveling to the WB from the States and he wanted assurances that they would be allowed in. We also received medical reports and photos passed to us from the son showing the wounds of his father.
23 Oct โ We called the hospital in Ramallah but were unable to reach the father.
26 Oct โ We called the (son) in Chicago, but no answer. We left a message asking if the brother and mother had arrived and contact numbers for them. We havenโt received a response or contact numbers.
Tucker, you can apologize when you find your conscience & acknowledge the facts.
Ambassador Huckabee, this is unreleased video of an American who was beaten almost to death last week by Israeli settlers. You know his name because he came to you for help, but you blew him off. Thatโs disgraceful. Do your job.

A documentary on a terror attack against Jews is apparently โtoo politicalโ to publicise
BBC publicity staff were reportedly unwilling to promote a film commissioned by the broadcaster which spotlights the victims of the brutal 7th October 2023 Hamas attacks on Israel.
According to Jewish documentary-maker Lucie Kon, the BBCโs in-house publicists refused to market the documentary on the Nova festival massacre in southern Israel, titled โSurviving October 7th: We Will Dance Againโ, due to its โsubject matterโ, which was allegedly considered โtoo politicalโ. 364 Israeli civilians were killed at the music festival, and 44 were taken hostage.
One cannot but help recall that the BBC went on to broadcast a documentary that was narrated by the son of a senior Hamas official, whose family was paid BBC licence fee money for his participation. Apparently that propaganda film was not deemed too political by our national broadcaster.
Ms Kon reportedly said that the broadcaster allowed its press team to โabandon their dutiesโ, which led her to hire a freelance publicist to promote the film instead. BBC sources appear to have contradicted this narrative, and have stated that the withdrawal was due to in-house publicists instead finding the content of the documentary too disturbing to watch.
The BBC has reportedly agreed to award Ms Kon a ยฃ400,000 payout after she claimed she was bullied out of the Corporation due to antisemitism.
It is telling that our national broadcaster appears happy to reward biased journalists and platform individuals who have allegedly expressed support for terror, but is unable to promote a documentary on the worst atrocity against Jews since the Holocaust.

On a brief trip to Jerusalem yesterday, I managed to get something Iโve long coveted. Itโs an ancient Judean coin turned into a necklace.
Itโs an incredible 2000 years old bronze prutot from the time of the Emperor Claudius - celebrating the birth of the emperorโs son Britannicus. The Roman province was being by administered by Antonius Felix (52-59 CE). It was just a few years since Jesus had been killed and the early Christians were still seen as a Jewish sect and going to the Temple in Jerusalem.
It was a Jewish state and had been for more than 500 years.
Just a few years later, after a rebellion, the Romans sacked Jerusalem and expelled the Judeans: the Jews. Some were taken as slaves, others fled. A few stayed, impoverished, treated badly and often even refused permission to go to the Western wall, all that remained of the great temple.
The descendants of those who fled ended up in all corners of the world but the desire to return always remained a central hope: particularly as in almost every land Jews were reminded they were outsiders, foreigners, not wanted, at best treated as second class citizens, at worse, ethnic cleansing and genocide.
So when ignorant people say Jews took someone elseโs homeland I ask them to think about this history.
When the Zionists returned to their brethren in what is now the state of Israel, they joined Jews who had been there for centuries.
There has always been room to share: just this week the world has been forced to see that there is a very politically active Arab minority living in Israel who took part in the vote for the only democracy in the Middle East.
And I would ask these antizionists who hate us so, who deny this is our homeland too, where would you like the Jews to go?

The terrorists were eliminated in order to remove the immediate threat they posed.

โA colleague who didnโt know I was Jewish said, โIt must be the collective trauma of the Holocaust that turns the IDF into baby-killers.โ
โI told her my parents were refugees from the Holocaust. I also have relatives in Israel who have done their national service, and she said, โOh, I didnโt mean you.โ
โShe was a very sweet girl and I donโt think she meant it maliciously, but that almost makes it worse because it has become so normal.
โI went to my manager and told them about it, and his response was to say, โWould you like some therapy?โโ
Jewish staff at the BBC have said managers โgaslitโ them when they complained about anti-Semitism at the broadcaster.
Instead of taking the complaints seriously, managers had asked the alleged victims whether they would like therapy, it was claimed. Others were allegedly told they were being โoversensitiveโ when they had reported anti-Semitic languageโคต๏ธ

The UN Commission of Inquiry report published this week selectively quoted Israeli officials, relied on unsubstantiated allegations, omitted crucial context, and failed to apply an appropriate standard of proof to exceptionally serious accusations. It should be called out for these failings, and the Commission should respond.

An UNRWA teacher told the @nypost that an administrator threatened to cut her tongue and make her wish for death.
Why? Because she confronted another teacher for indoctrinating children to hate Jews and support terrorism.
UNRWA teachers are teaching violence, hate, and antisemitism. According to the teacher, it's only gotten worse since the war began. She estimates that at least half of the teachers she encounters in Gaza believe violence is necessary to achieve Palestinians' political goals.
UNRWA is part of the problem; it canโt be part of the solution.

As a neurosurgeon, let me tell you how frightening this injury actually is - an occipital compound depressed skull fracture treated with a WIDE craniotomy (outer staple line).
What's scary isn't the fracture; it's what's adjacent to the damaged skull. The axe blows (that tree-branch scar at the center) hit right over the posterior superior sagittal sinus, a large vein that runs lengthwise between the 2 cerebral hemispheres and carries blood from the brain to the heart.
Penetrating injuries to the sinus can carry upwards of a 40% morbidity/mortality - partially because a transection of the sinus can be difficult to repair and can result in extreme blood loss, venous air embolism, or thrombosis - all of which can be fatal.
There's scary, and then there's the "you go to elevate the fracture and risk unroofing the sinus, losing 2 liters of blood in a minute" scary.
The surgeons likely had their hands full and did an amazing job. Divine providence called many heroes into service that day. Damn fine work.

Unfortunate that I have to spend time in Israel combatting this ridiculousness, but here we are. The notion that these Irish citizens were not permitted into Ireland because they are Irish is simply not the truth. Once again in the Irish Times - similar to when a sports journalist of theirs propagated a false notion that Israeli security was present at the Ireland/Israel UEFA fixture in order to spy on Irish media - there seems to be, at a very generous reading, a fundamental lack of understanding of the security threats that the Israeli people are constantly under such that these measures are necessary. A less generous reading is that there is a portion of Irish society suffering from a chronic mix of main character syndrome and victimhood complex and with respect to a region in the Middle East wherein we are entirely irrelevant.
Do I have to spell this out? I am Irish and I arrived in Israel on Sunday. Here I am right now chilling in a kibbutz with the passport I used to enter the country. The Italian woman directly in front of me did not get through (she was questioning for approximately 20 mins), but I did after under 10 mins. I arrived on my own and the security man had no idea who I was. As much as I appreciate Irish people thinking Iโm important enough to be known and that this is the reason I was let through with relative ease, that is simply not the case.
The questions I was asked included:
- Is it your first time in Israel?
- Are you here for work or pleasure?
- How long are you here for?
- Where are you staying?
Amongst a few others.
I answered those questions satisfactorily so I was permitted through. The reason other Irish citizens were not permitted into the country would have been because they did *not* answer these questions similarly satisfactorily.
Everyone knows Israeli security is extremely tough, and everyone should know the devastation that is wrought when it fails. The FlyDubai hijacking occurred mere weeks ago!
If you donโt want to be subjected to tough Israeli security then there is a simple solution: donโt visit Israel. There is no way you will get around it no matter what nationality you are. Indeed, it is quite interesting that people who so loathe Israel want to visit it at all.
Israel has a right to conduct robust airport security checks in order to protect its people. If they did not have such strict security measures, then in 1986, El Al Flight 016 would have blown up murdering 376 passengers. One victim would have been the unwitting Irish bomb carrier, Anne-Marie Murphy, who was five months pregnant. Anne-Marieโs Jordanian boyfriend, Zezar Himdawi, put her on the plane with a bomb; the most extreme and evil example of the anti-Israel movement using Irish people for its own ends, although certainly not the only one. The bomb in Anneโs suitcase was similarly identified through intense questioning by Israeli security after getting through the initial checks by British authorities.
The people complaining about Israeli security need to be asked: would you have wanted those 376 people murdered? Would you have wanted that poor, naรฏve Irishwoman to be murdered? Indeed, have you even heard of the Himdawi affair at all? If no, then ask yourself why.
The problem here is not that a random Irishman has a persecution complex and thinks he was denied entry because he is Irish. The problem is that this ridiculous notion is legitimised in our completely biased paper of record.
If the Irish Times wishes to do a piece on the warm welcome many Irish people received in Israel, there are many of us who can speak to that. But we wonโt be holding our breaths.
