Local councils like Hackney & Islington doing the bidding of Sadiq Khan need to learn some humility and know when they've made a mistake.

But cars were already banned from Oxford St for most of the time. What this scheme has done is remove buses and cabs. In fact, it has worsened public transport as bus journey times have worsened and some routes have been curtailed. I have sympathy with some of your general points but it is a mistake to apply them to this scheme.

National Blind charity here highlighting the dangers of some cyclists in London. Traffic lights, road crossings and regulations are there for a reason. They apply to cyclists as much as car drivers.

Ultimately, there must be a clear incentive for operating a taxi with built-in accessibility features, particularly in cities like London.
If stringent regulations are pitted against a competitor whose only requirement is the family car, it’s no wonder that accessible taxi services struggle to survive.
Local authorities, such as @CamdenCouncil and @hackneycouncil would also do well to understand this, when considering access.

Once again, weekend chaos for travellers between @HeathrowAirport and central London.
Piccadilly line is closed for repairs. So everyone crowds onto the Elizabeth line - which has now apparently packed up running through Central London. Passengers turfed off at Paddington.
