Seeing unusual colors, cracking, or mold in your 2026 soybean crop? You’re not alone. Reports of soybean seed quality issues—including soybeans of other colors, green seed, purple seed stain, Diaporthe seed decay, and seed coat cracking—are increasing across the country. These problems could affect how loads are classified, graded, docked, or accepted at delivery. Before hauling grain, learn what to look for, how current FGIS standards apply, and why talking with your buyer now may help you avoid surprises at the elevator.
