Friends don’t let friends listen to Ezra Klein or the Pod Save guys. Let old, dying things die.

Never in my wildest immigrant dreams did I think I would sit in the Oval Office and talk to the most powerful man in the world.
Last week, I shared with @POTUS how DACA and his new immigration actions have impacted my life and helped thousands of Dreamers like me.

Issue 1 may have put abortion and reproductive rights into Ohio's constitution, but Republican Senate President Matt Huffman says in a statement: "This isn't the end. It is really just the beginning of a revolving door of ballot campaigns to repeal or replace Issue 1."

First and foremost, Ohio democracy defenders: I FUCKIN LOVE YOU! 🤩
Second, Ohio GOP and especially Frank LaRose: EAT SHIT! 😈
Third, (male) Dem consultants who still think abortion isn’t a winning issue: LISTEN TO US WHEN WE SAY ABORTION IS A WINNING FUCKING ISSUE! 😤

Ohio voters have approved a ballot proposal legalizing marijuana for recreational use, making it the 24th state to do so. The GOP-led legislature, which had earlier failed to pass such a measure, has the power to make tweaks to the new law or repeal it. apnews.com/article/ohio-mari…

Happy #MeanGirlsDay 🤗
Did you know that in 2022, #ReproductiveFreedom won in *every state* where it appeared on the ballot?
And several states are now working on 2024 campaigns to enshrine this right in their state constitutions!

Today is the 9th anniversary of Mike Brown’s killing.
He would be alive today if the institutions of racism and white supremacy were eradicated.
He should be alive today.
We will never forget.
We will continue to fight for justice and accountability.
ALT Mike Brown: May 20, 1996-August 9, 2014
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Brown robbed a convenience store, attacked officer Wilson, reached into his patrol vehicle and struggled over the police firearm and was discharged, then charged the officer at gunpoint resisting arrest. Investigations including Obama’s DOJ ruled race was not a factor.

By rejecting Issue 1, Ohioans rejected special interests and demanded that democracy remain where it belongs — in the hands of voters, not the rich and powerful.
That is what has always guided me. I am proud to stand with Ohioans in this fight.

Election officials should absolutely NOT have turned away voters but instead told them to stay in line - as is their right - until the BOE came with more ballots.
Shame our chief elections officer has spent more time campaigning for Issue 1 than ensuring this elex went off well.

Rhiannon Carnes, our ED & Co-Founder, co-wrote this powerful article.
"Far too often, communities of color have been neglected in political battles and policy discussions. Ultimately, that’s left them even more vulnerable to attacks from bigots in power."
