Shared risk factors for CVD and cancer include obesity, smoking, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, physical inactivity, and ultra-processed foods. Shared mechanisms underlying both CVD and cancer include chronic inflammation, oxidative stress, metabolic dysregulation, microbial dysbiosis, and cellular senescence.
