Film Study An All American Universe Podcast

Honored to speak with #AllAmerican showrunner NK Carroll one last time about the series finale. I went into it wanting to dissect so much, but the final scene was SO beautiful, with Daniel Ezra and Michael Evans Behling delivering SUCH a moving final moment, I found myself zeroing in on it more than anything else. A perfect curtain call. Speaking to NK, she told me one thing she’s most proud of is how All American has given everyone involved the opportunity to grow and reach for their dreams. Which got me very emotional, since I covered the show since starting as a freelancer and across 3 outlets before landing senior editor at EW. And that’s where this final interview lives. All American helped me achieve my dream, too. And I am forever grateful to NK, the cast, and WB for giving me opportunities way before anyone else EVER did. It made a difference. But what this show is, what it had to say, what it’s done for storytelling, is so much bigger than me. It has earned its reputation as the unforgettable, boundary breaking series it is. I’ll miss it dearly. ew.com/all-american-showrunn…
