SK hynix was losing money in 2023. Last quarter, it made $62.2 billion, in operating profit. That's more than it earned in all of 2025. Its operating margin reached nearly 80%. So how did a memory-chip company become this profitable?

And this shortage affects us too. Expensive memory chips are pushing up the cost of smartphones and laptops. SK hynix already has contracts covering over half its planned production capacity for 2027 and 2028.

👀 An Indian startup is using AI to discover potential medicines for diseases ranging from cancer to hair loss. Bengaluru-based Peptris uses AI to design drug molecules and identify new uses for existing medicines. The government has committed ₹86 crore to help the startup advance four AI-discovered drug candidates. With drug discovery traditionally taking years and billions of dollars, Peptris is betting that AI can make the process faster and cheaper.

Binance, one of the world's largest crypto exchanges, has suffered a major security breach with an estimated impact of $6.3 billion. The suspected entry point? A compromised employee laptop that gave hackers access to its internal systems. Binance says it will cover the losses and user funds remain safe.
Binance's initial investigation suggests that the security incident may involve a compromised DevOps engineer’s laptop, which allowed an attacker to gain access to a service container and submit unauthorized withdrawal transactions. We have found no evidence of any wallet private key leak. We will share a detailed technical post-mortem once the investigation is complete and the facts are fully verified. The estimated total impact sits at around $6.3B. We have worked with blockchain partners to freeze affected assets, with ~$3 billion frozen on-chain so far. Binance will cover all losses from the SAFU fund and the company’s funds. User funds are safe. We will also publish an updated Proof of Reserves once the remediation is complete. As an immediate precaution, Binance has: - temporarily suspended deposits and withdrawals while security checks are completed; - revoked the affected address authorisation; - engaged law enforcement and blockchain intelligence partners to trace and recover funds. Our teams are working around the clock to resolve this issue safely and thoroughly. We are working closely with our law enforcement partners to confirm the identity of these criminals and bring them to justice. Please rely only on official Binance channels for updates. Please feel free to contact Binance Customer Support if you have any further questions. binance.com/en/support/annou…

Instacart was valued at $39 billion in 2021. Now, it’s agreed to sell to DoorDash for around $17 billion. DoorDash gets to buy Instacart at less than half its pandemic era valuation, while gaining its grocery network and retailer relationships.
Today we’re announcing @DoorDash’s intent to acquire @Instacart. Both DoorDash and Instacart share a mission to help local businesses succeed. Together, we could give grocers and retailers of every size the best of both in one service: DoorDash's delivery network and Instacart’s grocery and fulfillment technology, along with the advertising and AI tools each company has built. Until closing, DoorDash and Instacart will keep operating as separate, independent companies. AI companies want billions to build the future. But if the AI boom goes bust, should taxpayers be left picking up the bill? The upside is private. Should the downside be public?
