One day I hope to convince conservatives that we should enforce the rule of law, reduce the deficit, and not carelessly tear down the institutions prior generations built, but today is not that day.
The GOP cut funding to the IRS because *audits work* and they fundamentally don't believe rich people should have to play by the rules.

🚨 WATCH THIS. Newly released body cam shows Border Patrol agents deliberately steering into Marimar Martinez — an American teacher — before shooting her 5 times. DHS falsely claimed she “ambushed” them. Kash Patel amplified the lie. Prosecutors later dropped the case. Texts show agents celebrated: “Good shooting.” This was a cover-up.

During today’s hearing in front of the House Judiciary Committee, Attorney General Pam Bondi appeared to have several pages with the Epstein Files search history of a number of Democrat lawmakers on the committee, suggesting that the Justice Department is regularly tracking what documents and files in the Epstein Library are searched for by members of Congress, according to CBS News.

🧵 In response to my posts on X today, DOJ 1) unredacted an FBI file that LABELS two individuals as co-conspirators 2) unredacted a file that lists several men who might be implicated 3) tacitly admitted that Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem was the sender of the torture video

First, Matt, you don’t understand how an analogy works. Yes, countries are not families. But an analogy doesn’t require the two analogues to be identical. Rather, it merely requires that they are in certain respects similar. And that there is an important analogy here is a standard theme in Catholic and natural law political philosophy. For example, Aquinas says: “The ruler of a household is called father, not king, although he bears a certain resemblance to the king, for which reason kings are sometimes called the fathers of their peoples” (De Regno I, 2). But maybe you’ll dismiss that as silly too. Awful luck for St. Thomas, I guess. But second, the “family” part of the analogy is not in any case what was doing the main work. Rather, the more important bit had to do with what putting something “first” entails. And the point is that putting someone or something “first” simply does not entail making anyone else a “subordinate vassal” or the like. The family analogy isn’t necessary to see that. For example, if you put your best friend first, that doesn’t entail bullying other people (your dentist, your greengrocer, your next door neighbor, etc.). If you put your dog first, that doesn’t entail kicking other dogs around. And so on. Similarly, putting America first simply doesn’t entail turning other countries into “subordinate vassals.” If this rather obvious point still somehow eludes you, maybe it would help to consult a dictionary and look up “first.” Third, as to the colonialism of the Catholic empires, that’s a complicated topic, but whatever one thinks of it, winning the New World for Christ is a rather different thing from winning Venezuela for Exxon, or even for the sake of a Pax Americana. And even then it was too often carried out by cruel means (such as enslavement) that the popes and the greatest Scholastics of the time condemned as gravely evil. They were ignored, just as you and too many other Catholics are ignoring the Church’s teaching now. Anyway, since we’re on the topic of silly analogies, I think comparing Trump to Columbus takes the prize. Fourth and finally, your “against that now” remark insinuates that I’ve somehow changed my mind about something. I haven’t changed at all. You’re mistaking your own movement for mine, like the man on a departing train who thinks the railroad platform is speeding away from him. All I’ve been doing is upholding the traditional teaching of the Church, like you used to do.
Families are not countries. Your analogy is silly. Also, colonialism is how Christian civilization spread across the globe. It’s what the great Catholic conquistadors did in central and South America. It’s how America came into existence in the first place. Are you against that now too?

Just look at how much clearer this is. I'd never read the one on the left. Too confused. But the one on the right? Perfection.

Does somebody at the DOJ want to tell me why my American Airlines booking information and flights in July 2019 are part of the Epstein files (attached to a grand jury subpoena)? As the flight itinerary includes my maiden name (and I did book this flight) why was the DOJ monitoring me?

The problem with nationalists is that you all confuse policy disagreements with questions of treason. You just want your opponents to be connected of a capital crime. It makes you seem weak.

“He raped me.” “Donald J Trump had raped her along with Jeffrey Epstein.” “She was found with her head ‘blown off’… there was no way it was a suicide.” Now we’re starting to see why Trump was hiding the Epstein files, and it probably gets much worse.

In a letter attributed to Jeffrey Epstein, written from prison the day before his mysterious death and addressed to fellow sexual predator Larry Nassar, Epstein stated, “Our president also shares our love of young, nubile girls. When a young beauty walked by he loved to ‘grab snatch,’ whereas we ended up snatching grub in the mess halls of the system. Life is unfair.”
