Blessed Fulton J. Sheen was the director of the missions here in the United States. I mention it to you because this Sunday is Mission Sunday! He said, “Some help the missions by going. Most help the missions by staying, praying, and sacrificing.” You’re going to be asked to do that this Sunday. @thegnewsroom

It’s the feast of the Most Holy Rosary, sometimes called the feast of Our Lady of Victory. Here’s what happened: Back in 1570, there was an epic battle of Lepanto. Pope St. Pius V called upon the people of Europe to ask Our Blessed Mother’s intercession through the Most Holy Rosary. The Christian forces won! I’m thinking of the power of the Rosary. I’m thinking of Pope Leo’s recent trip to France. @thegnewsroom

One of the most common refrains I hear is “I don’t know how to pray like I should.” Even St. Paul said that! I mention it to you because it happens to be the feast of St. Faustina, who gave us that beautiful prayer from the Divine Mercy Devotion: “Jesus, I trust in Thee.” When you don’t know how to pray, that’s not a bad way to go! @thegnewsroom

It’s the first Saturday of the month of October, dedicated to the Most Holy Rosary. Our Blessed Mother at Fatima suggested that we pray frequently the Rosary. It’s not a prayer to her – we can only pray to God – it’s a prayer with her! @thegnewsroom
