You can’t pay your mortgage, rent, gas or groceries with another summit speech from Mark Carney. Let’s get real.

How long will this theatre go on? While Canadians can’t afford food and homes, Mr. Carney has distracted for months with big talk about “Associate Membership” with Europe. Now, Europe has rejected it. For the next two days, we will be distracted again from the cost-of-living crisis with wall-to-wall media coverage on yet another grand theatrical meeting to sign a bunch of meaningless declarations filled with big words (catalyze, anyone?) and promises to meet again to talk more. No one’s mortgage or grocery bill will come down. We already have a free trade deal with Europe, Mr. Carney. Get the 9 countries who have not ratified it to do so. And get EU countries to let our beef into the continent and cancel their planned carbon tariff on Canada. Otherwise stop wasting your time and our money. Both are running out.

The Liberal government is risking our children by releasing child-killing pedophiles with passes to leave prison. It is an insult to the victims and their families and a danger to all our kids when these child killers and rapists are on the loose. Conservatives will keep you and your kids safe, by banning the release of child murderers. They will stay in maximum security prisons for life and come out in a box.

The family of an 83-year-old grandmother battling cancer says she was given MAID against her will. This is disgusting. We have a sworn duty to protect the most vulnerable. This story demands action. The Liberal government must strengthen and enforce safeguards to protect vulnerable Canadians from pressure and abuse.

We will not replace our most important trading relationship with a strategic partnership for a “new world order” with the dictatorship in Beijing. We must fight for tariff-free trade with our allies to build a strong and secure Western alliance.
