So it’s been a while…but it’s time for us to get back out and about again. So we decided to go back to where we started. The absolutely beautiful Maryculter Woods. If you haven’t gone for a walk there you really should. Highly recommend it. – at Aberdeen, Scotland

📍 Forvie Nature Reserve, Aberdeenshire. A 45-minute walk from Forvie Nature Reserve car park, through the dunes to the beautiful, and quiet, Hackley Bay.

Findlater Castle, Aberdeenshire, an old seat, sits on a 50-foot cliff, overlooking the Moray Firth. How gorgeous are these pics of the castle at sunset 🏰💚

As you may have noticed we haven't posted since the recent national lockdown announcement and nor shall we while the advice is very clearly to stay at home. Hopefully it won't be too long before life can start to get back to normal, but in the meantime, stay safe. From Team FTD💚
📍 Bennachie, Aberdeenshire
Bennachie looking like a winter wonderland yesterday❄️
Our FTD Shire correspondent reported a snow-free car park but further up the hill the snow appeared, and it was deep. Best dig out the snowsuits for this one folks!🥾

📍Kirkhill Forrest, Aberdeenshire
Kirkhill Forrest is a hit with mountain bikers, trail runners & walkers🚴🏼♀️
There are some great routes with stunning views, especially if you manage to find Tappie Tower which gives views of Bennachie and Aberdeen on a clear day 👀

📍Tollohill Woods, Aberdeenshire
Just off South Deeside Road and across the river from RGU is the perfect wood walk for families and is also dog friendly🌲🌳
Can you find the hidden monument? If you can, the views across Aberdeen and the river dee are stunning 🥰

Peter Hill is perfect for a nice sunny day like today!
Head to the Finzean Sawmill and look out for the sign-posted track for Peter Hill.
It’s the highest in this area at 617m (just over 2000ft), nearby Chlacnaben is 589m. 🏔
Wrap up warm and take a packed lunch.
Pete 😎
We are SO EXCITED that - thanks to some VERY kind volunteers - we’re currently working on a #FitTaeDee website. The plan is to share information about places to explore in the North-east as we ourselves get to know our region better.
