[Re]introducing Five North.
Today Five North and Loop become two names with a clear line between them. Five North is the fund and the operator. Loop is real-time asset infrastructure for Canton.
Five North (fivenorth.io) runs Canton Super Validator infrastructure, builds the tooling to run it, and puts capital into the teams building on the network.
We help run the network we invest in.
Loop (looptech.io) is the product side, now together as Loop Suite.
Loop Wallet, at wallet.looptech.io.
Lighthouse is now Loop Data, at data.looptech.io.
Loop SDK, alongside them.
Two new sites, built from the ground up. Every product renamed. An SDK release out to integrators ahead of today so nothing breaks on the way through.
Months of work for a day that should feel like nothing happened.

Fee Balance is live on mainnet.
Fees now draw from a separate prepaid balance, changing the server SDK flow.
Most integrations we're seeing haven't upgraded yet, please make sure you are on the latest version.

Add ensureFeeBalance before executing a transaction. It checks the balance and tops it up if short.
This keeps transactions running smoothly even when the fee balance is low.

Two upgrades are coming to your wallet.
Clearer fees, faster transactions.
⚡ Fee Balance
A separate balance that covers the network fees on your transactions, kept apart from your regular CC balance. The amount you pay is the network's own fee and Loop adds nothing on top of it, and you see it before you sign.
It activates automatically, so keep enough CC in it to keep transacting.
🧩 UTXO Management Upgrade
Like too much change in your pocket, your balance sits in small pieces that slow your wallet down as they add up. Your wallet will now merge them in the background, at cost and with no markup, so you do not end up with stacked merges and a bigger bill later.
The UTXO Management Upgrade needs a one-time signature and you will be prompted the next time you log in. This is optional, but we recommend turning it on for a faster and more seamless wallet experience.

Free tier continues, you'll need to generate a Free plan API key to keep using it. There are 4 more tiers for teams that need more volume or more API keys.
Action needed by September 15, 2026 from current API users: pick your plan to keep your integration running without interruption.
If you already use API keys, you will be defaulted to Free Plan. Your existing API keys will keep working when you upgrade to paid plans, only your limits change.
After September 15, rate limiting will apply.
