It's a bit of a stretch—lie, even?—to say someone has 150 AI employees. But even if they're telling the truth, Napoleon himself stated that 5 (or at most 6) was the maximum number of direct subordinates a commander could direct effectively in battle. More is not always better, but if you have the right command and control, more is never a problem. Meet HANK. thesaleswhisperer.com/hank

A guy posted this week that he hasn't logged into his CRM in months. His AI bot sends him a report every morning and every night. It manages his contacts. It organizes his pipeline. It flags his scheduled calls. Cool. But one line in his post stopped me cold: "It found over 400 potential leads we could follow up with." Read that again. 400 people raised their hand. 400 people gave him their name, their email, maybe their phone number. And then no one called them back. That's not a login problem. That's a follow-up problem. And it's the most expensive problem in business. (I originally had "small" business, but let's be honest: big business has the same problems...they're just bigger problems.) I call it the forgotten fortune: the money sitting in your CRM from leads you already paid to get and never followed up with. Here's what bugs me... A report every morning won't fix it. You can read a beautiful report with your coffee and still not make the call. I've watched owners do it for 30 years. You don't need more information. You need the follow-up done. So here's how HANK AI handles the same morning: 1. Checks your CRM, inbox, and calendar. 2. Flags today's calls and anything that slipped. 3. Pulls the leads that went quiet. 4. Drafts the follow-up for every one of them. 5. Has Meridian, his inspector, check the drafts before they go anywhere. Then you read, approve, and send. Or pick up the phone. Small stuff runs on its own. Anything you can't take back waits for your yes. You don't need a bot to log in for you. You need one that follows up for you, with someone checking its work. How many leads are sitting in your CRM right now that never got a follow-up? Want to fix that once and for all? HMU and mention you wanna see HANK AI do his thing. Market like you mean it. Now go sell something.

"I never log into my CRM anymore. My bot sends me a report every morning." Cool. Did you call the 400 leads it found? You don't need a bot to log in for you. You need one that follows up. Market like you mean it. Now go sell something.

Faxes...pagers...email...CRM...now AI... Growing old ain't all bad. I've seen a lot of tech come and go... and stay... and overpromise... and underdeliver... and confuse... and wow... and everything in between. I've literally used faxes and pagers and classified ads to 800 numbers to door knocking to cold calling to email to webinars to trade shows to wrapping my cars to direct mail to voice broadcasts... Now it's AI. Similar, yet different. Concrete, yet obscure. Powerful... Confusing... Cute... Fun... Distracting. For nearly three years, I've had early adopters—usually marketers taking shortcuts—on The Sales Podcast to share some nuggets about AI. (None really excited me, but they were making a buck, and it is the SALES podcast, so there's that.) In late 2025, I started paying for Manus, and I was impressed. It helped me do some work, clean up some things, write some reports, etc. This past April, I took the training wheels off. I dug into Claude and OpenAI and Gemini and Perplexity and Meta and Grok and Hermes and Codex and now all of their spinoffs—I have Meta Muse sending LinkedIn messages and Cue and and and... (Not to mention our custom code for Claude; we call it HANK.) Mind you, this learning and applying is on top of my 30 years of messing with and installing and supporting dozens of CRMs and other tools into thousands of businesses helping tens of thousands of professional salespeople, sales managers, business owners, and entrepreneurs from Dell to my local chiropractor and everyone in between. Anyway... I tell you all of this so you know that tomorrow, when I host a free call on "all things AI," I'm not coming at this lightly. There is no agenda for the call. There is no presentation. There is no upsell or offer. It's just me taking your questions, sharing screens, and finding solutions to your nagging AI issues for about 45 minutes. No charge. Dear Secretary Bessent @SecScottBessent, My name is Everett Stern. In 2010 I was a compliance officer at @HSBC. From a back office in New Castle, Delaware, I watched billions of dollars move to drug cartels, sanctioned regimes, and terrorist organizations. The enemies of the United States. I documented it, I escalated it, and when the bank would not act, I took it to the @FBI, the @CIA, and eventually the @SECGov. The result was a $1.92 billion settlement. At the time, it was one of the largest in American history. It was also about five weeks of the bank’s profit. Not one banker was charged. Not one went to prison. I paid a different price. I lost my career, my savings, and my place in the industry I had trained for. I was blacklisted. Every door in American finance closed at once. I slept on a camping cot in a 300 square foot apartment because I could not afford a bed, and I waited tables at @PFChangs to eat. I tell you this not for sympathy, but so you understand that I know exactly what it costs to do the right thing in American finance, and exactly how little the system does in return. I made that sacrifice because I believed it would change something. Yesterday, your department fined @BankofAmerica $1.2 billion for failing to report more than $5 billion in suspicious transactions, some of it tied by your own findings to Chinese laundering networks, narcotics, and the southwest border, alongside 475 apparent sanctions violations touching Russia, Iran, and global terrorism. The bank admitted it willfully violated the Bank Secrecy Act. Fourteen years after HSBC. A bank with “America” in its name. And once again, not one individual charged. Secretary Bessent, I want to say plainly what I believe you already know. The fines are not working. A fine is paid by shareholders, absorbed by the balance sheet, and forgotten by the next earnings call. Bank of America reported earnings this morning. Nobody who set the alert thresholds, nobody who decided the 2024 cease and desist could wait, nobody who chose the backlog over the law will lose a single thing they value. Their lives are untouched. That is the entire reason the behavior repeats. This is money laundering. This is blood money. Money that reaches a cartel buys fentanyl that kills Americans. Money that reaches a terrorist organization buys the next attack. This country has fought a war on drugs and a war on terror for decades, at enormous cost in lives and treasure, and all the while we have allowed the financing to flow through institutions we charter and regulate. Cut off the money and we win. We have never seriously tried. There is also a question of equal justice that I cannot let go. Before I walked into the FBI building to report HSBC, I stopped in front of the Great Seal on the wall and read the words engraved beneath it: “Justice is the defense of our liberty.” I believed that. I still want to. But every day in this country, people go to prison for crimes that are nothing next to moving money for the people who want Americans dead. A suit, a title, and a corporate badge should not be a shield from the consequences that apply to everyone else. If a street dealer goes to prison for what he sells, the banker who moved the cartel’s money should be standing next to him. I also want to raise something that is rarely said in these conversations. Why has no one inside Bank of America come forward the way I did? The answer is that everyone in American banking knows what happened to me, and to the whistleblowers who came after. The last person who spoke up is the only policy anyone believes. That is a culture problem, and it starts with leadership, in the banks and in the agencies that regulate them. This is not a political issue. It has spanned administrations of both parties. It is a national security issue, and I am asking you to treat it as one. Three things would change the math overnight. Refer individuals for criminal prosecution. Not the analyst in the queue. The executives who set the thresholds and chose the risk. One banker in handcuffs would do more than every fine in Treasury’s history combined. End “too big to jail.” An institution cannot be too big to fail and too big to jail at the same time. If it is the first, it must be held to a higher standard, not a lower one. And if Bank of America will not act as America’s bank, review its charter. A national charter is a privilege granted on behalf of the American people. It should be conditioned on not moving money for the people trying to kill them. Secretary Bessent, you said yesterday that these actions send a clear message that even the biggest institutions are not above the law. With respect, the institution was never the problem. The people inside it are above the law, and they know it. Until that changes, I will keep writing letters like this one, and the next bank will keep paying the next fine. I gave up everything I had to stop this. I am asking you to use the power you have to finish it. Respectfully, Everett A. Stern HSBC Whistleblower Founder and Intelligence Director, Tactical Rabbit

August traffic report that should scare an owner: every visitor was new. Nobody came back. Average time on site: 5 seconds. Most of the “traffic” was paid—and a lot of it was from the wrong city. Paid clicks are not inbound leads. If your vendor shows you sessions and calls it growth, ask for organic calls, form quotes, and local-pack rankings. Then call me.

Everytime I watch this I laugh and I don’t know why.
