Today, I sent a letter putting New Jersey’s port and terminal operators on notice: importing Russian diesel violates federal law and could carry serious civil and criminal consequences.
New Jersey will not stand by while Donald Trump supports Vladimir Putin at the expense of Americans. Instead of lowering costs, these imports help finance Putin’s war against Ukraine and a campaign of violence and terror that endangers our servicemembers abroad.
As a Navy veteran, I cannot let that stand unchallenged. Our ports must not be complicit.

Continuing to burn throughout the day, Russia's 11 syllabled LUKOIL-Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez refinery - the 2nd largest gasoline producer in the country - now confirmed to be totally out of commission, having suffered precision strikes in its key processing units.
With the US no longer standing in the way, Putin's oil industry is doomed.
All hell continues to break loose in the Russian oil industry, as Ukraine targets the third Russian oil refinery in just three days.
With several sectors of the facility now ablaze, the Lukoil-Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez refinery in Kstovo, in the hellish Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, a full 800 km from Ukraine.
Operating since 1958, this refinery is Russia's fourth-largest and the second-largest gasoline producer in all Russia, with an annual processing capacity of approximately 17 million tonnes of crude oil (340,000 barrels per day).
The refinery was modernized in 2021 with with help from American company Honeywell UOP.
