I have to talk about something on my mind. A handful of streamers have told me they are feeling discouraged continuing due to lower numbers and performance; worrying if they are the problem. It breaks my heart to hear people think this way, and I hope if you feel like this you take a moment to read this. First thing to acknowledge is August and September are generally lower months for all streamers and will frequently see dips in viewership for creators of all sizes. That isn't anything you have done wrong, and something to be prepared for each year. Next, there are a lot of unknowns in how twitch tracks things and handles various parts of the platform. I personally am still having lurkers tracked from what I've seen, but some may not be. Its inconsistent, but just know that this is something talked about by many creators to the point it would be SHOCKING to me if twitch wasn't aware of this concern. Finally IF YOU FEEL LIKE you want to improve your content, I would encourage you to re-frame how you approach this. Before I say what I'm about too, I want to clarify: Just because you want to improve yourself, doesn't mean what you are doing at the moment is bad! But, don't ask yourself "am I boring?" - "Boring" is incredibly subjective and only negative towards yourself. Instead ask yourself "How can I improve?" I know I've messed up many times in my career, and always have room to improve myself. This shift in paradigm seems small, but it can be HUGELY impactful and leads to developing your content/performance and pushing yourself forward. You aren't doing anything wrong and absolutely SHOULDN'T quit! Part of the fun is discovering what ways you can develop your skillset even more and grow as a person and creator (personal growth, not size) What I'm trying to say is don't let numbers eat at you. Stuff will happen you can't control. And for the parts you can: Enjoy yourself, be passionate, and always look for self improvement. Never give up, and be your own biggest fan pushing yourself forward. This barely scratches the surface of what I want to say but it's the best I can do on this platform. I hope it is helpful.
